HTC Desire HD Unboxing Video

htc-desire-hd

This is the one that Android fans have been dying to get their hands on, the HTC Desire HD.

The 4.3 inch, 1GHz, Froyo bad boy of the Android world has had one or two delays with its launch but now that we have a review device this means the final ROM is complete and I would imagine that you will be able to get your own one real soon.

With a very similar shell to that of the HTC HD2 the Desire HD gives us that great big screen but with some added specs such as the 8 megapixel camera, 720P HD video recording and best of all Android 2.2. Many people said after the HD2 was released that they wished they could have it running Android. The Americans were first to get an Android device from HTC of this size – the EVO. Now it is our turn.

Let the Android wars commence.

Enjoy the unboxing video below.

Dell Venue Pro coming to the UK sim free!

dell_venue_pro

Hot of the press this afternoon I have discovered that the Dell Venue Pro will indeed be available to buy sim free here in the UK this year. Clove have been told to expect stock in early November which is a turn up for the books as a lady from Dell told me it would not be in the UK this year.

We will of course have an unboxing video and full review as soon as the device arrives with us. In the meantime if you did not see my hands on video at the Windows Phone launch event you can do so by clicking here.

Please head on over to Clove for more info on the device or look at the pics after the break.

HTC 7 Mozart Unboxing Video

HTC 7 Mozart

The HTC 7 Mozart from Orange is the first Windows Phone 7 device to arrive at the tracyandmatt camp and what a pleasant surprise it was. Out of all the WP7 handsets I used last week at the launch the Mozart is the one I was looking forward too most, as I felt that if I was going to get one it would probably be this one. Size wise it is pretty much on par with my iPhone and it just feels good in the hand.

Enough of my views. Check out the unboxing video below and watch out for the full review in the next week or two.

HTC Gratia Coming To Europe

htc_gratia_whiteHTC couldn’t take a break after announcing the new Desire’s and all of the WP7 phones. Named the HTC Gratia, the newcomer is the European version of the HTC Aria on the AT&T network in the states. It comes with Android 2.2 with the old version of HTC Sense, not the new one seen on the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z. It also has a 600Mhz processor, a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 640×480, a 5 MP auto-focus camera and it comes in black, white and green.

The HTC Gratia will be available next month throughout europe, but no word yet of carriers or prices.

BlackBerry Style officially announced for Sprint in the USA

blackberry-style-press-release

We wont be seeing this one anytime soon here in the UK, if at all. The BlackBerry style is a CDMA device and will be exclusive to Sprint. An acquired taste this one I think.

Over in the States 100 million people use a flip phone so it kind of makes sense for RIM to come up with this design which is there first BlackBerry flip with a full QWERTY on board. The Style is also the first CDMA device to launch with BlackBerry 6.

The BlackBerry Style rocks the 5 megapixel camera found in the Torch and also has GPS and Wi-Fi. 512MB of internal memory are there to power BlackBerry 6 and a 8GB memory card comes in the box for media. You also get a choice of two colours – Steel Gray and Royal Purple.

I would love to get my hands on one of these but I fear that will not happen.

Windows Phone 7 advert – Video

WP7

If you have not seen the latest Windows Phone 7 advert on the television you can do so after the break. The advert very much takes the mickey out of other platforms, in particular BlackBerry, insinuating we are heavily engrossed in our phones and WP7 will make life easier for us. Me, engrossed with my BlackBerry? Surely not!

Anyway, from what we have seen of the new operating system it may well be quick and easy for us too complete a task but so much quicker than other OS’s? Nor sure about that one.

We should see the first of the Windows Phone 7 review devices rolling out this week so keep your eyes peeled for videos etc.

Toshiba Mini NB250 netbook unboxing video

NB250 It’s been a while since we looked at laptops or netbooks but with a seeming ‘new wave’ of these devices hitting the market, presumably to because we are nearing Christmas, we thought it was about time to have a look at what £250 can get you these days.

First-up we are looking here at the Toshiba Mini NB250. This one has been on the market for a little while but as the price has now come down a little this appears to be, on the face of it, a good value netbook. With a run-time of 8.7 hours (claimed) it could be ideal for students.

In the video below you’ll see me unbox the NB250 and have a quick look around the hardware. Over the next few weeks we’ll have a review of the NB250 for you. If you’ve already made your mind up to buy one IT247.com have just dropped the price of this one to just £254.99

Using the iPhone as a musical instrument – Video

Atomic Tom

I discovered the following video over on the iPhone blog and thought I should share it with you here too. After we demoded ‘Drums’ for the iOS a couple of weeks ago I thought this would be a great follow on to show you the endless musical capabilities of the operating system.

New York band Atomic Tom forgot to take there instruments on the subway but luckily enough they had there iPhones with them and were able to give a live performance whilst travelling.

As you will see the iOS really delivers some great musical opportunities and Atomic Tom go to prove that.

Check out the video below and if you like the sound of Atomic Tom why not subscribe to them on YouTube.

Official videos – HTC Surround & HTC 7 Pro

HTC7SurroundHTC7Pro

The HTC Surround and 7 Pro are both devices that we in the UK are not likely to see this year. HTC have posted short videos of both that you can see below.

The HTC 7 Pro is the device that will be here next year at some point and will be open to all UK carriers, so HTC told me. Not sure about the Surround though. I think we may miss out on that one. Shame as it looks a right bobby dazzler!
