In our previous post about the sound quality of the HTC Diamond, we used Vito Audio Notes software to record both sides of a telephone conversation between ourselves and MSMobiles, so moving on from that we thought it would be a good idea to have a quick overview of the software.

Orange today announced the launch of a mobile phone charger prototype that is powered by dance energy. The Orange Dance Charge is the result of months of research into alternate, sustainable energy sources to power mobile phones during summer music festivals.
Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and NTT DOCOMO announced today their intent to unite Symbian OS(TM), S60, UIQ and MOAP(S) to create one open mobile software platform. Together with AT&T, LG Electronics, Samsung Electronics, STMicroelectronics, Texas Instruments and Vodafone they plan to establish the Symbian Foundation to extend the appeal of this unified software platform. Membership of this non-profit Foundation will be open to all organizations.
There has been a lot of reports recently about the very poor sound quality when using the HTC Diamond for voice calls, particularly from user in the US. We decided to carry out some tests with Edward from MSMobiles to see how the HTC Diamond sounds. To carry out the test we ran the Vito Audio Notes software on the Samsung i780 at the UK end of the conversation and Edward called me from his HTC Diamond.
As part of Vodafone UK’s commitment to making it easier to use Vodafone’s high speed network to access internet, email and popular music and TV services on the mobile, Vodafone is offering customers selecting an 18 or 24 month contract a variety of all inclusive bundles.
We were lucky enough to be invited to do a segment with the MSMobiles podcast last night where we discussed the Samsung i780 and the HTC Diamond among other things. You can check out and download the podcast at http://podcasts.msmobiles.com/?p=233.
Another device turned up in the post for us to take a look at and this one is the Samsung SGH i780 Windows Mobile Professional device. This phone impressed us from the moment we opened the box and switched it on. The form factor is fantastic combined with a great front facing Qwerty keyboard.
MSMobiles have received an HTC Diamond for review and it has the latest rom which is rumoured to fix most if not all of the problems with the pre-released versions we have seen. They have posted a video on Youtube showing the Touch Flo 3D UI and it certainly looks muck more fluid. You can check out the video after the break.
We have been running a poll for a few weeks now just to find out a bit more about our readers so we can hopefully provide the content that you want to read about. Well we are pleased with the poll results as it fits in with the direction we want to be heading in and hopefully one that is quite unique. This site loves Windows Mobile and the iPhone and that is unusual, so we will continue to report news and reviews for both platforms along with detailed reviews of devices and software. We will also be covering Symbian news too but more in how it compares to Windows Mobile and iPhone devices.
This next 12 months will see some amazing new devices coming through along with some great software to review and hopefully we will be able to provide the information you want to know about. Please subscribe to our feed so you don’t miss anything new or bookmark our site and once again thank you for your support, the readership is growing very quickly.

Since the release of the HTC Diamond officially in the UK, its been great to read that HTC seem to have addressed a lot of the issues with the first wave of unofficial grey imports and preview devices that were being reviewed a few weeks back. Now the released devices are carrying a rom that is more recent than the review devices we have read about and it appears that this makes a huge difference to the performance.
