Engadget Mobile has the spec sheet for the Treo 800w. Most seem to be stifling a yawn to this give the Samsung SGH i780 has been there and done that a couple of months before. However you look at it a Treo has always been one step backwards of the cutting edge but always solid and reliable.
The Treo 800w is playing its cards sensibly yet again breaking no new ground. I’m hoping the MMS concern is merely something Sprint is introducing, not across the board. Also, this model seems to do away with the 2.5mm headphone jack, much like HTC’s one USB connector for all connections.
Windows Mobile Owners Circle was launched in 2007 now it has morphed into "Total Access", It has a new name, a new look, with more exclusive content, offers, and extras. Full features after the break.
Spotted this on PMP Today. It appears that Negri Electronics have added the unlocked Iphone 3G to their catalogue, here.
No price as of yet, however they seem to believe will be shipping on the 21st July. Radio Shack and Best Buy are are also tipped to join in.
Can’t imagine seeing an Iphone sitting on a shelf in Currys or Argos in the UK for some reason. Perhaps Tesco or Sainsburys will be picking it up.
There has been a great deal of interest in the recent review that we recently posted for the Samsung SGH i780 Windows Mobile Professional device and we have been asked a few questions that we would like to answer. After the break we have posted a short video with a demo showing some additional features that were missing from the original review, thanks for all the comments.
Just returned from a visit to my local O2 store and had a long chat to the manager of the store. He told me that all O2 stores will be taking orders for the the iPhone 3G from 4th July. This is a fastrack order system so you will actually be able to sign up for service from 4th July select your contract go through the credit checks etc and organise any number porting from this date. On the 11th July you can avoid any in store queues and guarantee that you will get an iPhone 3G on launch day. If you are porting your number this can also be arranged so that it is ported on the 11th when you get your new iPhone 3G so no hanging around. I will be doing this on the 4th July so I will keep you all informed how it goes.
Engadget Mobile are reporting O2 are taking action to prevent the worrying scenario of charging on the go once petrol and diesel reach an all time high and people revert to pedal power.
Having looked at Dashwire it’s worth mentioning a localised phone tool that works on your home computer and gives you the power of your phone without touching it.
When we were recording the Mobility Today podcast earlier this week there were a few requests in the chatroom to see a 3G video call using the HTC Diamond. Well I managed to persuade my colleague Lee to help me out and we did a short demonstration of the technology in action. After the break you can see the video and quality of the technology in action.
Appearing to confirm some recent rumors senior O2 retail sources in the Midlands region of the UK claim that all company stores will officially open at 7:05AM local time, well ahead of normal schedules. The real-world opening is expected to be 7:02AM (a take on the company name) in keeping with a young tradition started when the original iPhone launched at 6:02PM for its November launch.
Mobile handset giant Palm is putting a positive spin on its $43.4 million loss this quarter. The company credited roughly $20 million of that loss to compensation and restructuring costs as it attempts to shift its business plan to better accommodate the consumer smartphone market. In addition to its own restructuring, Palm faces stiff competition from longtime rival Research In Motion and the growing threat of the Apple iPhone, which launches a 3G model next month.
