Aside from the IdeaPad S9 and S10 netbooks, Lenovo has also launched a new ultra-portable MID called the IdeaPad U8. It runs on an Atom Z500 800MHz processor that’s complemented by a 1GB RAM, a 4.8-inch touch screen, 6GB SSD, Bluetooth, GPS, WiFI, rear and front video camera, EDGE, 3G, CMMB tuner (China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting), and a Linux OS. The U8 was unveiled during the recently concluded Olympics, thus the rationale behind the Olympic-themed rear design.
Phone Report have posted some nice pictures of the HTC Dream. Interestingly the device here is still white yet all talk seems to be of the device being released in black, perhaps this will be an exclusive to a network. Pictures after the break.
We were talking on the msmobiles podcast yesterday about Kinoma Play software for Windows Mobile devices and it got me thinking as to why the iPhone is my device of choice at the moment. The main reason for me is the excellent interface to your media compared with Windows Mobiles clunky UI. Well having just watched the WMExperts video of Kinoma Play and read their review it has got me thinking again. Check out the video after the break of this great looking software and if your using it let us know what you think in the comments or in the forums.
Whilst this isn’t particularly useful to those who reside in Europe Mickey and Joey have put together a great podcast worth listening to as they spell out those definitions for folks confused by the terms they read. Its a clear and concise review of the US cellphone operations, covering phones, plans and networks. Excellent for beginners.
Saw a VERY interesting article at jkOnTheRun that mentions the scenario of converting your everyday movements into charge for your mobile phone battery, awesome! Read on for more info!
The project sounds to be in it’s infancy, but from what I read – sounds VERY promising! Imagine going through your everyday routine: shopping, vacuuming, washing dishes, just playing with your children and at the SAME TIME, charging your phone battery in the process.
When this device was announced way back in February this year it looked like this could be the phone to have in your pocket, great enhancements to Windows Mobile 6.1 matched with great specifications. Now nearly 7 months later it is looking increasingly likely that we will not be seeing this device at all this year or ever for that matter. According to Engadget who were talking with a Sony Ericsson representative at the IFA show the device will be delayed until December 2008 at the earliest.
If your a Twitter user and outside of the USA, Canada or India you will have noticed that SMS updates are no longer being delivered to your phone. We reported this a few weeks back and because of this Twitter has lost a lot of it’s sparkle. For me the beauty of Twitter was its social networking ability without having to do anything other than read a simple text message. When one of your friends has something to say you get it with the minimum of fuss. This was Twitter’s killer addictive quality and now it has been taken away from us. A couple of companies have spotted this gap and are currently offering their own services, they are tweetSMS and twitMobile.
The guys over at newmobile have been at the IFA 2008 fair in Berlin Germany and managed to get the new HTC S740 in their hands. According to HTC though the device does not yet have a Windows Mobile product version yet so they were not allowed to play around with the software. A few of the pictures are after the break.
Dave at Mobility Today has posted an important video for all to get an idea of just how easy it is for someone to gain access to your iPhone. Its seems that using "favourites" is the problem. Video is after the break.
