Just had a tip off from from online supplier www.superetrader.co.uk that they will have stock of the Samsung Omnia i900 for delivery from the 18th August. You can register your interest now and they will let you know as soon as it is available for delivery. They will also be offering a bundle with Route 66 sat nav software as part of the package. But even better we are first on the list to get a review unit. Also confirmed, the 16 Gig version will not be coming to the UK and will be a US only release. Full details of the Samsung i900 Omnia after the break.
If you are a HTC TyTn II user then you are probably well aware of the problems with 3D hardware acceleration or lack of it. Well the guys over at HTCClassAction.org have made a bit of a breakthrough OpenGL ES and D3D drivers (non-fullscreen) for the TyTn II line of devices. A video demo and links to download the cab file after the break.
The guys over at XDA-Developers have done it again, this time it is great news for the US early adopters of the HTC Diamond. As has been well documented the HTC Diamond released for the European and Asia markets did not have the 850 Mhz band available, this is the band that AT&T use mainly for their GSM network so if you have a Diamond the best you can expect is rather patchy coverage. HTC claimed it was a space restriction within the Diamond and that was why it did not work as the hardware had not been included, well this looks like being a red herring as the new Radio Rom enables the 850 band for use in the US. Unfortunately still no 3G or HSDPA but edge coverage will be fine.
You can download the Rom from this xda-developers thread.
So the iPhone 3G failed to get A2DP out of the box, well apparently according to Gizmodo you can now get a A2DP adaptor to plug into the bottom of your iPod or iPhone and bingo you have A2DP. Known as the Bluetooth A2DP Stereo Audio Transmitter – INFINXX AP23 it is available to buy online now, full details after the break.
Here is a good look at the operations of Opera Mobile 9.5 Beta. We covered all the ins and outs on a previous post here. Looks like the software covers all the aspects you’d expect making it a nice hybrid of Desktop and portable browsing.
Like the form of the HTC Diamond but not the angular back panel that stops it from sitting flat on your desk, well it looks like HTC have done something about it, well in Asia anyway by releasing the HTC P3702 aka the HTC Victor. It is basically the HTC Diamond without the angular back panel and has a few other subtle differences like a different stylus design, raised d-pad and different button layout.

There is an interesting article over at Smart Device Central pondering the future of Palm. Love it, hate it, uninvolved by it, Palm has been a front runner in many fields but can it keep up with the big dogs like Apple and HTC. Recent phones have hardly pushed the boundaries but are reliable and robust. Their interesting financial structure answers many questions as to why they are still on the playing field these day. Have a look and see what you think.

Been playing around with a great online service for creating ringtones and it works well with the iPhone M4R format too as well as other platforms that support mp3 and AMR formats. Audiko is a Ringtone Maker that does not require registration, and you won’t need to download any software/plugin to your computer. Just upload your favorite song, or supply Audiko with a URL that ends with MP3 format or even a Youtube video. Then choose the part you want to cut from the song, the time you want it to play, and that’s it, totally free. Details after the break
