The guys over at XDA-Developers have done it again, this time it is great news for the US early adopters of the HTC Diamond. As has been well documented the HTC Diamond released for the European and Asia markets did not have the 850 Mhz band available, this is the band that AT&T use mainly for their GSM network so if you have a Diamond the best you can expect is rather patchy coverage. HTC claimed it was a space restriction within the Diamond and that was why it did not work as the hardware had not been included, well this looks like being a red herring as the new Radio Rom enables the 850 band for use in the US. Unfortunately still no 3G or HSDPA but edge coverage will be fine.
You can download the Rom from this xda-developers thread.
