Samsung Galaxy SIII – best selling handset of 2012 at Phones 4U

Phones 4U

The Samsung Galaxy SIII has become the biggest selling handset of 2012 at Phones 4u, based on both pre-orders and first day sales across all 600 of the retailers’ stores. This also includes sales from the Samsung PIN experience pop-ups in Westfield Shepherds Bush and Old Spitalfields Market, which Phones 4u is the official UK retail partner for.

Prior to this the handset had also broken the record for Phones 4u’s most pre-ordered handset ever.

The Samsung Galaxy SIII is available to all Phones 4u customers on the new ‘Just Update My Phone’ or ‘JUMP’ contract, which enables consumers to upgrade their mobile phone from a selection of the latest smartphones on the market, from partners Vodafone and Orange, as often as every 6 months.

Scott Hooton, Chief Commercial Officer at Phones 4u commented: ‘The demand for the Samsung Galaxy SIII has been truly phenomenal both in the pre-order period and on launch day. First day trade was exceptionally strong in all stores and at the Samsung PINs. A high proportion of the sales made were via JUMP, with new customers starting up contracts and pre-existing JUMP customers also coming in store to take advantage of the flexible upgrade and get their hands on the Galaxy SIII.’

Available free on contract from £36 a month, the Samsung Galaxy SIII is available in-store and online at Phones 4u now.

rim-logo

Last night Thorsten Heins, CEO of Research in Motion released the below statement detailing what is what in the BlackBerry camp at present. As you can expect it is not plain sailing at RIM currently and although there have been some staff changes and rumored staff cut backs this really isn’t surprising.

While financially the company are still focusing a rough couple of quarters this year it isn’t all bad as you will see. The BlackBerry subscriber base worldwide has grown again, now up to 78 million and both developers and RIM themselves are still positively focused on BlackBerry 10 which is still planned to roll out in Q4 this year.

Everything Everywhere invests £50 million to revolutionise service for its 27 million customers

Everything_Everywhere_logo

Everything Everywhere, the UK’s biggest communications company, has today announced a £50 million investment programme which includes a revolutionary new way to deliver service to its 27 million customers. The company – which runs Orange and T-Mobile in the UK – has overhauled its service approach, designing it around handset operating systems and the devices that use them. For the first time in the UK, customers will now be able to access highly trained specialist agents who are experts on specific devices and related operating systems, giving customers unrivalled service for their Apple iOS, BlackBerry, Android and Windows phones.

The unprecedented smartphone growth the UK has experienced means that customers are using devices in a completely different way and this new service approach is designed to meet customers’ changing needs.  Orange and T-Mobile staff will become experts in all aspects of customers’ digital lives, advising them on device, technology and account specific needs without having to transfer them between departments, which has been the traditional approach to telecommunications customer service. This is a fundamental shift in how the Orange and T-Mobile service experience is delivered and is central to Everything Everywhere’s plan to be the UK’s number one for customer loyalty.

The new service approach is actively rolling out across the organisation following successful trials which showed dramatic improvements in the resolution of issues at first point of contact, as well as a double digit increases in Net Promoter Scores – a key measure of customer service.

Win a MOTOLUXE with T-Mobile and Motorola

Moto What's your line

Motorola and T-Mobile are teaming up with a new and funky app which will see them give away a brand new MOTOLUXE.

Every week for 10 weeks, they are asking people to take part in their ‘What’s your line up?’ app to be in with a chance to win the MOTOLUXE (www.facebook.com/motorolaeurope).

The app lets you create a ‘Social Graph’ – a cool graphic that shows you who your best friends are on Facebook, brings them together in a beautiful collage and lets you share your graph online. You can find out who you interact with the most on Facebook with the automatic selection button, or choose those nearest and dearest to you via the manual option.

The app is also a fun way of demonstrating the MotoSwitch application that comes pre-loaded on MOTOLUXE handsets. With MotoSwitch, the MOTOLUXE learns who you talk to and which apps you use the most, and puts all that information front and centre. The more frequently you communicate with someone, the bigger their icon becomes!
