Epson Stylus Office BX625FWD review

bx625fwd This week we’re continuing our look at all-in-one printers available at the moment with the Epson Stylus Office BX625FWD, a 4-in-1 office printer.

This model features duplex printing, faxing, copying and has built in WiFi and 6.3cm colour screen on the control panel.

The machine is by no means small but with so many features crammed in to one package does it do everything well or are there compromises being made?

WP7 Mango update could contain 500 new features

lg-wp7

Speaking at the Japanese Microsoft Developers Forum today, CEO Steve Ballmer said that the forthcoming ‘Mango’ update will contain 500 new features. Holy smoke!

What those features are we will have to wait and see but remember that we are attending a Windows Phone 7 event tomorrow in London for a preview.

Our man Phil will not only be attending the press event but also a round table discussion afterwards. I’m not sure if the table will actually be round though!

Stay tuned tomorrow afternoon for some updates of what we can expect to see from Windows Phone 7 in the near future.

Windows Phone 7 Preview Event

Screen shot 2011-05-17 at 09.16.12

If you currently use Windows Phone 7 or are looking to get one in the near future we should have some interesting news on Tuesday.

Microsoft have invited us to a VIP preview event in London on May 24th. But what are they going to preview you are probably asking yourselves.

Well we don’t know what they are going to show us so it is guessing time. Personally I think it can only be one of two things. The first being a preview of the new features and improvements in the forthcoming Mango update. Or secondly some new phones although I would put my money on option one.

Anyway, we will have the news for you after the event so keep your eyes peeled.

RIM responds to alleged bad PlayBook sales

blackberry-playbook 7

BGR posted the other day that they had heard from one big retailer that the BlackBerry PlayBook sales were not quite as good as we were led to believe. The post even went as far as saying that 90% of PlayBooks were being returned. RIM have responded to this with the below quote:

The source of the reported comment is anonymous and unknown to RIM, but the comment is certainly inconsistent with the positive feedback we have received from our main retail partners. As previously indicated, RIM will provide a business update on BlackBerry PlayBook results on June 16.

For reference, here is a public statement recently offered by Best Buy:

“Best Buy has had great success selling BlackBerry smartphones in North America, so our sales expectations for the BlackBerry PlayBook were very high. To date, we have far exceeded those expectations and we’re finding that customers are even more interested in purchasing once they’ve tested the PlayBook in the store.”

I didn’t believe the original post so as Matt is in the USA i sent him down to BestBuy to investigate. Not only were BestBuy out of stock of the PlayBook due to good sales but a member of staff told Matt that he had had no returns. Good news for RIM.
