HTC Desire HD demo video

HTC Desire HD_3-4_Right Following on from the HTC event coverage yesterday here, as promised, is the first of the videos recorded at the event. In this video you’ll see a brief demo of the excellent new HTC Desire HD.

We’ll have a lot more to say about the Desire HD and HTCSense.com over the next days and weeks. I’ve also got a long video of the presentation itself that’s still in the process of uploading to YouTube – 2GB is going to take a while but check back again soon!

Nokia C7 Demo Video

Nokia-C7

The Nokia C7 is the C6’s big brother. I say big as it is greater in size and in specs. The screen on this one is 3.5 inch and like the C6 it also has a 8mp camera and records 720P HD video.

We get 8GB of internal storage on the C7 compared to only 340mb on the C6 and as expected this one will carry a higher price tag.

Bluetooth 3 is also a difference that we find on the C7 to allow for quicker file transfers and of course we get Ovi Maps 3.0 which if you remember is free!

I hope the video does it justice as the screens on these new devices are pretty stunning.

HTC Announces Desire HD and Desire Z

HTC Logo

The rumours were true! The successors to the Desire are here in the form of the Desire HD and the Desire Z. Announced earlier today in London, these phones are HTC’s latest and greatest phones to date. The Desire HD is the european version of the very successful EVO 4G on the Sprint network in the US, and the Desire Z is the HTC Sense version of the G2 on T-Mobile USA. And both come with the latest version of Android and HTC Sense, with HTCsense.com, that enables backups of texts and call logs, remote wipe and the ability to locate your phone.

Read on for details of the phones…

Nokia N8 demo video

Nokia N8 174x300

Nokia’s new flagship device , the N8 was top of my priorities list when I visited Nokia World. I tracked one down straight away and got a demonstration from a nice Nokia rep. The hardware is not amazing, apart from the camera that takes fantastic pictures, but what i wanted to see most of all was Symbian 3 running. Not having been a big Nokia fan in the past I must say i was very impressed with the N8. As you will see in the below video the UI has had a little revamp and the phone runs beautifully smoothly.

We have some more Nokia video to come over the next few days but in the meantime please enjoy this one.

Messaging with Symbian 3 on the new Nokia E7

NokiaE7 I thought that the Nokia E7 would be a great place to demonstrate messaging on the updated Symbian platform. The device itself is bigger that the N8 (by half an inch on screen) but it does miss out on one or two feature although pretty minor ones.

At 176g in weight it is pretty hefty but with the added bonus of an excellent full QWERTY keyboard you would expect a bit more. Not having used messaging features on a Symbian phone much before I thought I had better get an expert to talk me through it.

What do you think? A worthy contender up against the sliding Android devices?

Nokia C6 Demo Video

nokia-c6-01-ofic-1

The New C6 from Nokia is the smallest and lowest specced of the devices launched today but that doesn’t mean it is not good. In fact I was surprised at how nice it actually was.

Sporting a 3.2 inch screen and running Symbian 3, it still has a 8mp camera and will record video in 720P HD. Not bad a for a little phone.

See it in action in the video below.

Dell show off dual-core hybrid tablet

delltab1 Fresh off of the presses from IDF is news of a forthcoming Dell tablet hybrid armed with a dual-core Atom processor.  Hybrid you ask?  Yes it seems it’s another Transformer netbook, allowing you to flip the body and hide the keyboard.  It shows the device running Windows 7 with a selection of big, finger friendly media icons for those not wanting to get PC about things, plus it certainly looks like a capacitive screen of around 10".  Not much more is known yet but it certainly looks exciting and quite powerful compared to other netbooks.
