ZTE V9A Light Tab 2 gets a price drop at Clove – A Nexus 7 alternative?

zte-v9a-light-tab-launching-next-month

The ZTE V9A – Light Tab 2 may not be as great specs wise compared to the Google Nexus 7 but it does have a 3G modem built in which you can’t ‘currently’ get with the Nexus. With a discount on the tablet at Clove the price is only £142.80 including VAT which for what you are getting is a pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

Yes, it only runs Android 2.3 and only has 4GB of internal storage but the 3G capabilities kind of make it attractive,.

You can pick up the ZTE Lite Tab 2 at Clove here.

Bad Piggies released by Rovio

BP

Rovio Entertainment released its newest game, Bad Piggies, for iOS, Android, Mac, and PC. Told from the pigs’ point of view, this innovative game lets fans build amazing machines that crawl, roll, crash, and fly the pigs to the eggs!

“We’ve never done anything like this,” said Petri Järvilehto, EVP of Games. “Where Angry Birds was all about destruction, Bad Piggies is all about the joy of construction. It’s not just about getting three stars — in this game, failing is almost as much fun as succeeding!”

The game is set on Piggy Island, where the Bad Piggies are after the eggs again — but as usual, nothing is going according to plan. They need help in creating the ultimate flying machine and steering it safely to their destination.

With more than 60 levels, and free updates coming up, there’s hours and hours of pig-crashing, exploding, and flying fun. Fans can unlock an additional 30 levels by getting three stars, and four sandbox levels let them stretch their creativity to the utmost. With 33 objects available to create the ultimate machine, the sky’s the limit — if you can navigate around all the obstacles first!

This is the first time the Bad Piggies are protagonists of a game, but it’s just the beginning of a series of Bad Piggies related games and other entertainment.

Bad Piggies is available now on iOS, Android, Mac, and PC, with Windows Phone coming soon.

Thorsten

BlackBerry®Jam Americas 2012, formerly the BlackBerry Developer Conference, has kicked off on September 25 in San Jose, California.  The conference is a showcase for the bold, new direction BlackBerry is heading with the upcoming BlackBerry® 10 platform. The flow of ideas, passion for the platform, and drive to succeed is in full display at the conference.

During his keynote, Thorsten Heins, Chief Executive Officer at Research In Motion (RIM), clearly demonstrated that the company is delivering on its vision for BlackBerry 10 to a global audience of partners and developers.  More sneak peeks of BlackBerry 10 were also shared.

BlackBerry 10 is designed to make users more productive and more efficient.  With Flow, which is at the core of BlackBerry 10, home buttons are gone and there is no need to exit an app to open a new one.  Users can move easily from task to task, and check in on their conversations, wherever they may be. With BlackBerry 10, RIM is expanding its leadership in communications, NFC, mobile social media, as well as collaboration in the enterprise.

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will be in store on October 1st

Note 2

Samsung Mobile UK has today announced that the Galaxy Note II will be available from Monday 1st October from the Samsung Brand Store at Westfield, Stratford City and across all major networks in the UK. The Galaxy Note II launches with Android 4.1 JellyBean and an upgraded Google Now service, which includes new features such as contextual search. With a 1.6GHz Quad-Core processor and HSPA Plus, owners of this new device can enjoy super-fast screen transitions and performance when browsing the Web, as well as quick app start-ups.

Simon Stanford, Vice President, UK & IRE Telecommunications & Networks Division, Samsung UK and Ireland said: “The introduction of the original Galaxy Note was a great success – we succeeded in creating an entirely new category and went on to sell more than ten million devices globally. With the Galaxy Note II, we’re not only expanding the category, we’re also evolving the technology to the point where it genuinely feels as though you’re using a traditional pen and paper. What’s more, it’s a device that everyone can use – whether that’s a fashion designer drawing a new design, or young professionals using the multiscreen and pop-up features to edit a document, send an email and browse the web – all at the same time.”
“We were delighted by the hugely positive response we received when we first announced the Galaxy Note II at IFA back in August. The Galaxy Note II is a whole new level of innovation and we are confident users are going to enjoy the updated features and design of our latest Galaxy device when it hits the shelves on the 1st of October.”

Sennheiser introduces its first multi-platform gaming headset and it looks to be a right bobby dazzler

Sennheiser has today announced its first multi-platform gaming headset, the U 320. Whether you prefer to game on PS3®, Mac, PC or Xbox 360®, or all of the above, the U 320 consistently delivers the best sound quality on all devices for a truly immersive gaming experience. Perfect for those who want to enjoy high-end gaming without accumulating multiple headsets for multiple devices.

Headset

The average age of gamers today is 25 and ‘mature gamers’ play on consoles more than they play on PCs, which is why Sennheiser created the U 320, to offer a consistent high-quality sound experience on every platform. So, if the kids have hijacked the Xbox®, there’s nothing to stop you from simply plugging the headset into a Mac, PC or PS3® to enjoy your gaming time alone without disturbing others.

The U 320 is born out of Sennheiser’s 65-year experience pursuing the perfect sound, and is designed to emphasise the different types of distinctive gaming sounds. The sound spectrum of the U 320 is superbly amplified, resulting in the legendary Sennheiser sound. Plus the bass boost is easily adjusted to fit your need for clear explosions, crashes or background music.

Thanks to great comfort, the U 320 is wearable for as long as a gamer wants to enjoy the getaway from everyday life. The open-acoustic design helps you keep a cool head, and the soft-padded unique CircleFlexT design ensures that the ear pads adjust automatically, making the game experience a comfortable thrill.

“The U 320 ensures the best conditions for enjoying your favourite game. We’ve worked hard to develop a consistent sound, regardless of the platform, and believe that our efforts will contribute to players everywhere enjoying a better sound experience,” says Product Manager Christian Ern of Sennheiser Communications.
