HTC, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, and Microsoft today unveiled the first signature Windows Phones, the stunning Windows Phone 8X and 8S by HTC. The smartphones feature the new Windows Phone 8 operating system and boast iconic design, immersive studio-quality sound with Beats AudioTM and incredible camera capabilities.

“Pairing these beautiful new HTC phones with our Windows Phone brand is a big milestone for both of our companies and our partnership.” said Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft. “Together we are offering customers a simple choice and a truly unique experience.””We’ve been inspired by Windows Phone 8 to create new smartphones that give the platform the iconic design and personality it deserves,” said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. “Windows Phone has clearly emerged as one of the top mobile ecosystems and is competitive against any other smartphone platform in the world.”

The only phone with Live Tiles, Windows Phone has a clear, differentiated vision and the consumer experience has been widely recognised as being groundbreaking, innovative and fresh. The Motorola RAZR i with a 2GHz processor is announced

RAZR i

Sept. 18, 2012 – Motorola Mobility in partnership with Intel Corporation introduced the powerful MOTOROLA RAZR i with Intel Inside®: the new full-screen smartphone that fits in the palm of your hand. Its Super AMOLED Advanced 4.3-inch display spans from edge-to-edge with virtually no border – giving you more screen with less phone. RAZR i is the first smartphone that can achieve speeds of 2.0 GHz thanks to a fast Intel® Atom processor. Jump from a game to a text and over to a playlist, then off to browse the Web – all without stopping and on a long-lasting battery that is 40 percent more powerful than the competition.

The power of Intel Inside means you also get an instant-launch 8-megapixel camera that can load in less than a second. Just use the dedicated camera key so you get the shot you want. When there’s action involved, multi-shot mode lets you snap 10 pictures in less than a second. And with the illuminated sensor located on the back and High Dynamic Range (HDR) capabilities, you’ll get a great shot, even in challenging lighting conditions.

“Together with Intel, we’re redefining what people can expect from a mobile device. A camera that launches in an instant, Web pages that load blazingly fast and a device that’s the perfect balance of screen size and fit in hand,” said Jim Wicks, senior vice president, Consumer Experience Design, Motorola Mobility. “RAZR i delivers just that when you put an Intel-fast processor in a beautifully designed phone and add in extra long battery life.”

“Motorola RAZR i with Intel Inside naturally blends together the value propositions of high performance Intel Architecture and great battery life, Motorola Mobility device innovation and the Android platform,” said Erik Reid, general manager, Intel’s Mobile and Communications Group. “Intel’s goal is to provide compelling technology options that translate into great user benefits and experiences. RAZR i is a great proofpoint in the collaboration and we’re thrilled to be working with Motorola to bring this edge-to-edge experience enhanced with Intel Inside to people around the world.”

Will Everything Everywhere announce a date for the LTE roll out tomorrow?

Everything_Everywhere_logo

I’m off to a meeting tomorrow morning to hook up with some of the Everything Everywhere team. The question is what will they tell us. Chances are it will be regarding the 4G LTE roll out but with the iPhone 5 launching very soon could the network be up and running in time for the new iPhone. If so I suspect it would give iPhone sales a little boost not to mention the fact that Orange and T-Mobile will pick up a load of new customers.

So tune back in tomorrow when hopefully we will be allowed to let you know the latest news.

Get the ultimate screen protection from Expansys

crystalusion-liquid-glass-protection

Looking for the ultimate screen protector for your smartphone? Expansys may well have the answer with Crystalusion Liquid Galss.

Layer your tech in Liquid Glass for cutting edge protection: Crystalusion Liquid Glass is a futuristic and effective way of protecting your smartphone, laptop, tablet, iPod, PSP or PC monitor. Using nanotechnology, it provides a resistive layer that protects coated surfaces from dirt, oil, dust, abrasion and bacteria for up to 12 months. Rather than a solid layer of plastic it is actually a liquid that you wipe onto your device. This then sets, in a matter of minutes, to form a protective layer that is approximately 500 times thinner than a human hair. As it’s a liquid there won’t be any annoying bubbles that form and you can apply it to the whole of your device for all round protection. You can even use it for your sunglasses, goggles or glasses all for the great price of only £6.99.

So what are the benefits of Crystalusion  Liquid Glass? Well, when it comes to protecting your AV, media or communications device it offers some amazing benefits to protect not only the screen but the entire device!

  • Being applied as a liquid it provides bubble-free protection
  • Doesn’t impair functionality or vision
  • Protection against abrasion
  • Can improve the visible appearance of minor hairline scuffs
  • Reduces finger marks
  • Provides an easy to clean surface
  • Gives antimicrobial protection
  • Resistant to both acid and alkaline
  • Protection against water and humidity (Hydrophobicity)
  • Protection against oil and oil based substances (Oleophobicity)

Nokia announce the Lumia 920 & Lumia 820 running Windows Phone 8

920

Espoo, Finland and New York, USA – Nokia today announced the Nokia Lumia 920 and the Nokia Lumia 820, the first devices in Nokia’s Windows Phone 8 range.

The Nokia Lumia 920 is the flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, including the latest advances in Nokia PureView imaging innovation. Using advanced floating lens technology, the camera in the Nokia Lumia 920 is able to take in five times more light than competing smartphones without using flash, making it possible to capture clear, bright pictures and video indoors and at night. It also compensates for hand movement while the photo is being taken.

“Nokia PureView continues to deliver cutting-edge technology to make it possible for a smartphone camera to take the kind of images usually only seen on a standalone SLR camera,” said Jo Harlow, executive vice president of Nokia Smart Devices. “With the Nokia Lumia 920 we have made it possible to shoot pictures and video at home, outdoors, in a restaurant or even at night, and come out with professional-looking results.”

“We view imaging as a core area for differentiation in the smartphone space,” said Crawford Del Prete, Executive VP WW Products and Chief Research Officer, IDC. “Low light photography has been a weak point for smartphones. Nokia has addressed this with PureView to create real customer value. By applying its rich expertise in imaging Nokia has created a best of breed experience for everyday use.”
