The Windows Mobile Team Blog have posted a picture showing the team that will be developing the structure and interface of Windows Mobile 7.
These guys (and gals) are responsible for Smart Dial, Call History, Speed Dial, Call Progress, Voicemail, Wireless Manager and a whole bunch of phone UI and APIs. They’re all hard at work on building a great phone + connectivity experience for the next version of Windows Mobile. Picture after the break.
Sales of pre-pay dongles have rocketed to 8,000 per week in the UK, according to figures from retail analyst GfK.
Priced at around £50, pre-pay dongles are increasingly seen as a flexible way of getting broadband access on the go when used in conjunction with a notebook.
The GfK figures represent an eight-fold increase on to six months ago when just 1,000 per week were being sold.
There are already 10 people in line for the Apple 3G iPhone a week ahead of its release, according to a GearDiary report.
“According to police they began this morning. Number one in line is a man and woman with a baby whose goal is to set a record for time in line and the first baby to wait with them (or some such nonsense).”
“This is the first line forming for the 3G iPhone at the flagship Apple 5th Avenue Store in New York City.
A PC Advisor reader has revealed the secret plans for the UK launch of the Apple 3G iPhone. These include VIP passes for people who pre-order the phone online.
Callum McCormick claims that a member of staff at his local Carphone Warehouse showed him details on his computer that spelt out times and dates of the second-generation touchscreen smartphone launch on July 11. The iPhone will also be available at UK carrier O2’s stores.
If you recall the story we posted last week about the pricing of the iPhone 3G on a pay and go non contract agreement which subsequently disappeared from O2’s site. Well the reason for this seems to be that it will not be available to buy from O2 at launch on July 11th. The new display benches in O2 stores for the iPhone 3G which are appearing in stores now clearly show "Pay and Go available later in the year" in large text on one side. This is disappointing news but was expected as I am sure they want to sign customers in to 18 month contracts and the lure of being an early iPhone 3G user might just sway you to commit.
O2 staff have been freely telling customers over the last few weeks that from the 4th July you could come to any O2 store and pre-order the iPhone 3G, sign up for service, go through the credit checks and even arrange porting your number in advance so everything will be ready to go on Friday the 11th. Well it is total rubbish as apparently after speaking to the manager in a local O2 store today they have changed their mind and now will not offer any pre-orders on the iPhone 3G.
Slashgear looks at the HTC Pro in detail. It looks chunkier than the Kaiser/Tytn II however the dimensions seem to be roughly the same. There is even a video so click on after the break to see the Diamond’s tubbier, younger brother.
Samsung i740 is a quad-band GSM/GPRS phone with no 3G support or even EDGE. Samsung i740 has a standard 2.8" TFT display with QVGA resolution. As a phone running on Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro OS, it is important to know that i740 can rely on a powerful 624 MHz processor. Fortunately, there’s at least a built-in GPS receiver.
HTC Diamond is free on Orange in the UK. Some probably think that’s rather mad, some would say you are mad to pay for it. Whatever way you look at it, free is a great price. Tracy and Matt take a look at it. And if you look here you can even get a free PS3… barmy!

It’s a tough choice, which phone you would go for? In my circle I know a person piping for each. One of the lesser features is the camera. Windows Mobile devices have always had less than stellar cameras.
Of them all, which one excels? The Unwired investigates.
