We did a review of the Dension Gateway 100 using it with the original iPhone and it all worked perfectly. Now that I have the iPhone 3G I have been testing it out this morning and it is not good news. First off the Brodit holder that I have installed is a little tight but it should be fine as it is lined with a felt so it will not scratch the iPhone 3G. The worst part is when you plug the cable into the iPhone 3G and you are met with a warning message.
I have now had the iPhone 3G for 24 hours and thought it would be a good idea to post some impressions so far. The buying experience is now over and hopefully will not be repeated but since then its all been pretty good. Unlike in the US we did not have to activate the iPhone 3G instore, all that was needed was a signature on a new or upgrade contract and a credit check. The credit check took the longest as O2’s credit check service failed before 9am but luckily as I got mine from the The Carphone Warehouse they had a back up plan so all was good. After the break more first thoughts.
Looks like we will soon see a new version of the Pwnage tool to work with the latest iPhone 2.0 software. The guys at the iphone dev team have posted a video showing it in action and claim it will work with the latest 2.0 software. Don’t expect it this weekend but they say it will be available very soon. Video after the break.
Michael Manna of the T4Show has done a great review of the new iTunes Remote for iPhone. Michael in this video shows us how he uses his new iPhone 3G to control his AppleTV and also perform a software update over the air on the Apple TV. Check out the video after the break.
Here is a little advert that I feel is somewhat misleading to any news users to the iPhone. It claims the iPhone as "3G speed built in".
Nokia has updated the oddly attractive E61/E62. A chap called Matthew Miller has uploaded a good video introduction to the E71. I’ll be taking a long look at this phone over the next few days and will be posting a full review next week.
I guess there is going to be a slew of videos for all the new apps on the iPhone. Here is one that is likely to be a big hit. Myspace is an extremely popular social network and this does seem to simplify the whole system. Video after the break.
PC Pro have given a pretty big thumbs down to the Diamond. Its fairly cutting and isn’t afraid to point out minor flaws as major flaws. They do have a few good things to say but its another interesting look at probably the most controversial phone since the iPhone.

UK VoIP provider Truphone has managed to get its client into the Apple store, though the application won’t make calls over the 3G network and calls it does make won’t be free. Truphone, a company with aspirations towards becoming a real telco, demonstrated VoIP running on an iPhone back in September last year, but back then native applications weren’t allowed on the iPhone, so it was never actually launched.
WordPress have announced a native iPhone application for posting from the iPhone directly to your WordPress blog complete with pcitures too. What is even more interesting is that it will be available soon for free in the App Store. This is great news for WordPress bloggers. Video of it in action after the break.
