The Boy Genius Report have their hands on the latest Blackberry Bold and have just posted up their review, apparently they have had the phone in hand for over a month but decided not to spill the beans. This is the device every single BlackBerry user has been waiting for. Finally a BlackBerry that “has it all.” 3G, GPS, Wi-Fi, QWERTY keyboard, camera, great screen, clean styling, and more.
Just watched a video over at the T4 Show of the iPhone application Shazam and I have been playing around with it myself and have to say it is quite amazing. When you hear a song wherever you are and want to know what and who it is, simply load up Shazam, select tag it and let your iPhone listen to the song for about 15 seconds and it will tell you what your listening too. If you are a new user to smart phones with push email and HSDPA connectivity and have just got your hands on the new iPhone 3G then battery life may be a bit of a shock for you. PC World have done some pretty extensive test of the iPhone 3G battery and find it to out perform many of it’s similarly specced rivals.
Who would have thought, the Treo 800w is super fast. Palm maybe be releasing nothing new on the hardware front but they have spent a lot of time making this phone react like you’d want it to. Push a button and things happen. Take a look at the video after the break. Thanks to Pocketnow.
If you were really looking forward to tomorrows promised release of Opera Mobile 9.5 beta then prepare to be disappointed. They have just announced that there are still a few bugs that are stopping it from being released, they have rescheduled the release for the 17th July so its not all bad. Full text from Opera after the break.
Just spotted this great story over at Mobility Today, PC World’s Senior Editor Tim Moynihan applied a serious beating to the Apple iPhone 3G using keys, breakfast cereal, water, dish soap, and city sidewalks. Check out the video after the break, I dropped my original iPhone and put a large dent in the top so this was painful viewing for me.
Apple today announced it had sold its one millionth iPhone 3G on Sunday, just three days after its launch on Friday, July 11th. “iPhone 3G had a stunning opening weekend,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “It took 74 days to sell the first one million original iPhones, so the new iPhone 3G is clearly off to a great start around the world.”

Here is a video from Phone Arena showing a couple of problems with 2.0 on the iPhone. Doesn’t seem to say whether is it is the official 2.0 firmware however. I guess as you pack more and more things into a device the likelihood of error increases, ala Windows Mobile.
Have look at this fairly hefty evaluation of the Treo 800w. They have many good things to say about it and point out a few obvious flaws along with a complaint about the battery. Sounds like another safe yet robust offering from Palm. Glad to see it.
