Matthew Miller from Nokia Experts checks out the Nokia MD-8 speaker set that was included with the Nokia 5530 XM evaluation unit. The Nokia MD-8 speakers have a £20 retail value, although you can pick them up for £5 at Amazon, until now I never had a chance to check them out. As a person who travels on the road for my company, I can truly appreciate having a set of speakers like this to enjoy my music content and podcasts in my hotel room and rental car.
The retail package includes the Nokia MD-8 speakers, Nokia Audio Adaptor AD-52 (2.5mm adapter), 3-AAA batteries, and User Guide. The audio adapter is present so you can use the speakers with a phone that has a 2.5mm headset port. The end of the 29.5 inch cable contains a 3.5mm headset jack so you can plug in the speakers to just about every MP3 player and most new Nokia Smartphone’s. I tested the speakers with the N97, Nokia 5530 XM, and my new Zune HD.

Mark Guim of Nokia Blog bumped into Brett Butterfield, CEO and founder of Pixelpipe during the first day of Nokia World. I told him I love the service and have been using it frequently with my Nokia phones. I also told him that I had my hands on the Nokia N900 and hope that Pixelpipe works on it. I was in luck. He asked permission from Nokia then got the green light to demo it.
Pixelpipe rocks because it is the best way to share photos, videos, and more from the phone to the web. I use it frequently to upload photos and videos to Flickr, Twitter, and Facebook directly from the camera on Nokia phones. There are more than 100 places to choose from! Mozilla is planning on bringing Firefox Mobile to the N900 in the next quarter, despite the Finns’ native browser already being built on Mozilla’s framework.
TechRadar managed to nab some time with the new browser, and here are some exclusive screenshots of the new browser, previously codenamed Fennec, running on Nokia’s new flagship device, the N900.
The buzz around the new announced Nokia X6 is quite big although there are devices like the N900 and the N97 Mini which are drawing more attention. However, the buzz is there for a very good reason. The Nokia X6 is the first S60 5th Edition device of the new announced X-Series and can be seen as an evolution of the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. With the combination of features and services provided with the device, it will definitely appeal to a very large audience.
The candybar touch screen device has a very fresh and trendy look and it really aims to reach the younger generation. Not only are the looks appealing for young users but also the service it comes with. You will get a full Comes With Music license so that you can download as much music as you want, totally legal and without any additional costs. Nokia really encourages the user to download as much music as possible with putting a 32GB built in memory into the slick X6 as well as Wi-Fi. It would appear that Windows Mobile 6.5 has a superb new feature – Group Messaging!
This will allow users to send sms and email messages to multiple contacts easily. I’m sure that business users of Windows Mobile will love this new feature as they will be able to message numerous employees just by highlighting them in the normal scrolling contact list.
With only a couple more weeks left until WinMo 6.5 is officially released it will be interesting to see what other new features may crop up.

It would appear that Vodafone here in the UK have a fine selection of devices “coming soon”.

As well as the Nokia N97 Mini & E72 they have a couple of great offerings from Sony Ericsson, The Xperia2 and Satio. These handsets are all going to be in great demand but the one im looking forward to testing out is the HTC Tattoo. We have covered the Tattoo previously and I think it will be a great option in particular for PAYG customers wanting a low cost Android device.

From the get go, we knew that Palm had an uphill battle to get apps into its App Catalog. Not an easy task when you have a brand spanking new mobile OS, yes, you guessed it, webOS. And other platforms having the upper hand with the number of apps doesn’t help either. All this – it would appear – is about to change.
The flow of new apps into Palm head quarters has been overwhelming, and many developers have been submitting their applications for consideration. Unfortunately, for them and for Pre owners, they never got a response, and some developers have wonder about the status of their submission. The problem is that there have been so many apps submitted that Palm is having trouble keeping up.
But they finally got a response via Palm’s developer discussion boards from none other than Palm Developer Community Manager Chuq Von Rospach, who posted the following:
Mobile-nova has unboxed the Sony Ericsson Xperia X3 (Rachael), and taken a hand full of pictures. Nothing close up so I’m a little sceptical. The unit doesn’t quite look finished but have a look through the pictures and see what you make of it:
