The Nokia C7 is the C6’s big brother. I say big as it is greater in size and in specs. The screen on this one is 3.5 inch and like the C6 it also has a 8mp camera and records 720P HD video.
We get 8GB of internal storage on the C7 compared to only 340mb on the C6 and as expected this one will carry a higher price tag.
Bluetooth 3 is also a difference that we find on the C7 to allow for quicker file transfers and of course we get Ovi Maps 3.0 which if you remember is free!
I hope the video does it justice as the screens on these new devices are pretty stunning.
Nokia’s new flagship device , the N8 was top of my priorities list when I visited Nokia World. I tracked one down straight away and got a demonstration from a nice Nokia rep. The hardware is not amazing, apart from the camera that takes fantastic pictures, but what i wanted to see most of all was Symbian 3 running. Not having been a big Nokia fan in the past I must say i was very impressed with the N8. As you will see in the below video the UI has had a little revamp and the phone runs beautifully smoothly.
We have some more Nokia video to come over the next few days but in the meantime please enjoy this one.
I thought that the Nokia E7 would be a great place to demonstrate messaging on the updated Symbian platform. The device itself is bigger that the N8 (by half an inch on screen) but it does miss out on one or two feature although pretty minor ones.
At 176g in weight it is pretty hefty but with the added bonus of an excellent full QWERTY keyboard you would expect a bit more. Not having used messaging features on a Symbian phone much before I thought I had better get an expert to talk me through it.
What do you think? A worthy contender up against the sliding Android devices?
The New C6 from Nokia is the smallest and lowest specced of the devices launched today but that doesn’t mean it is not good. In fact I was surprised at how nice it actually was.
Sporting a 3.2 inch screen and running Symbian 3, it still has a 8mp camera and will record video in 720P HD. Not bad a for a little phone.
See it in action in the video below.

The guys are back together and manage to survive the podcast with no drops and having to resort to impersonations of each other to create a flawless illusion to disguise any technical errors they might be encountering. On this mesmerising journey James visits Nokia, Andy comments on the future of Phones 4U, Matt tests the Sony Ericsson Zylo and Gareth uncovers Vodafone’s pricing blunder on the Blackberry Torch.
It’s been a while since we looked at a non-smartphone from Sony Ericsson. In the past we’ve reviewed several handsets within their Walkman range and we thought it was about time that we reviewed some more!
So we’re starting out with the new Zylo. The Zylo is available from around £120 SIM-free and from free with a contract. It represents pretty good value for money with 3G connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1, Google Maps, MP4 playback, 3MP camera supporting Geo-tagging and Twitter, Facebook and YouTube clients.
Over the next week or so we’ll be putting the Sony Ericsson Zylo to the test and we’ll have the full review for you soon. Until then have a look at the unboxing video below to see what’s on offer.
For those of you with any one of Sony Ericsson’s X10 trio in your pocket, this tasty piece of news should be music to your ears. While the rest of the Android world has more or less moved on, the Xperia X10’s has been serving up nothing but donuts for almost a year. Sony Ericsson actually promised to let 2.1 loose before end of Q3, but now we have evidence! An Xperia X10 was found running 2.1 Éclair at their booth at the IFA technology trade show in Berlin. As you can see, it has their UI skin all loaded up, so now the question is when we will see this actually rolling out to users.
Video (in German) after the break.
If you saw my Blaq review yesterday you would have seen how beautiful the user interface is. To give you a further insight I have recorded a brief demo video to show the main (and coolest) features of the application.
Have you downloaded Blaq yet? What do you think? Please let us know over in the forum.
The Samsung Galaxy Apollo i5801 is one of those devices that comes with pretty good specs and is extremely good value for money. At under £150 on PAYG you get Android 2.1 (upgradeable to 2.2), 3G, Wi-Fi, A-GPS and a 3.5mm headphone jack just for starters.
Sold solely on Orange here in the UK you also get the added bonus of Orange maps to take care of your sat nav needs.
If you are looking for a pocketable, stylish, cost effective Android phone then this one could be right up your street.
Check out the unboxing video below and the review will be online in the next week or so.
A few weeks ago Innopocket sent me an email saying that they’d just launched a new stand for the Apple iPad; the Hexapose Stand. Having seen the product shots and knowing how popular the iPad has become among our readers I thought it would be a good idea to request one to review.
After cases I suspect that iPad holders or stands are the next big accessory that iPad owners are likely to buy. There are plenty out there now but the thing that initially attracted me to the Hexapose was that it is made from aluminium and looks a little like the stand you’ll find on an Apple iMac. It’s also poseable in 6 different positions, hence the Hex in Hexapose, in both portrait and landscape orientations.
The whole unit arrives in a fairly small box and requires the simplest of assembly, just a couple of screws to hand tighten. As you’ll see in the video below, it’s easy to put together and use and furthermore holds the iPad secure enough to be safe whilst still making it easy to remove when you need to.
