Revolabs xTag USB Wireless Microphone unboxing video

xtag1 If you are a regular Skype user like me or you do a lot of voice dictation then having a good quality microphone is a must. However the next feature you may look for is wireless connectivity. I personally find hands-free or rather wire-free podcasting much more convenient.

The problem is that all too often the lack of cable also leads to a lack of quality. But with the Revolabs xTag Microphone you get quality and convenience, a wearable microphone and headphone combination.

The Revolabs xTag Microphone is a wireless microphone ideal for business schools or even video calling family and friends. With crystal clear clarity your audience will hear every single word. The microphone is light, slim and can be attached to a lapel or use the lanyard supplied. Using the lastest in audio technology to make sure you get heard.

Below you’ll find a brief unboxing video and we’ll have the review up for you soon. IT247.com is currently offering the xTag Microphone and the Facevision TouchCam N1 Webcam as an exclusive bundle.

Hauwei IDEOS unboxing video

huawei-ideos_1 A few weeks ago we were invited to the Huawei IDEOS launch event and managed to get our hands on the new Android device for a brief demo video. We have been impressed with this new little handset from Huawei, not least because it’s the first to ship with Android 2.2, but also because it is literally packed with features that you would expect to find on higher-end devices; capacitive touchscreen, turn-by-turn navigation and compass to mention just a few. Incredible when you learn that the price of the IDEOS is set to be between £99 and £129 when launched!

On Saturday I managed to get my hands on the full retail version of the Huawei IDEOS and recorded an unboxing and demo video for you which you will find below. We’ll have a full review for you over the next few weeks.

FaceVision FV TouchCam N1 unboxing video

FV_TouchCam_N1_side If you’ve ever used a webcam for talking to friends over MSN or Skype the chances are you’ve been limited to QVGA or maybe VGA quality video. Webcams tend to yield noisy, grainy results. However FaceVision are looking to change all this with their FV TouchCam N1 HD webcam which, I believe, is the first HD webcam to make it to market.

Capable of 720p at up to 22fps the N1 compresses and sends the video with H.264 compression. At the moment the N1 is only compatible with Windows PC’s running Skype 4.2 (with a special driver provided) but I hope that Mac version will be made available soon.

The Gadget Show are going to feature the N1 later in the week here in the UK but you saw it here first! The FV TouchCam N1 HD is currently exclusive to IT247.com so head over there if you want to pick one up!

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Unboxing Video

9800Torch_blk_ENGuk_Gen_BottomAngle

As you can imagine I was rather excited when I got a phone call today from RIM to say that they had a Torch review unit in at long last. It seems like ages ago that I was at the launch event where we saw the live stream from the States where the Torch 9800 was launched on AT&T.

Now it our turn here in the UK. This is the first slider from RIM and I am reserving my thoughts on its success until I have used the device for a few days. It is kind of weird as I am used to using the Bold 9700 and an iPhone4 but not a combination of full QWERTY and a touch screen on the same device. It is going to take some getting used to.

Check out the unboxing below and keep your eyes peeled for the full review which should be online in the next week or so.

Seesmic for Windows Phone 7

seesmic-logo

Not long to go now until we get an official Windows Phone 7 release date and in the meantime it’s great that we are slowly getting to see more and more of what we can expect once the platform is made public.

The below video is a prime example. Seesmics Twitter client is pretty huge on the Android and BlackBerry platforms and the developers have been working on a version for WP7.

As you will see it looks pretty sweet and totally different to on the existing OS’s.

Check out the video after the break.

HTC’s Take on WP7, And Oh My, it is Beautiful!

HTC Hub on WP7

If this turns out to be real, I think HTC have got themselves an instant hit. As blog MobilityDigest have managed to grab hold of and post a video of what appears to be a running version of HTC’s implementation of Windows Phone 7. Codenamed, the HTC Portal, it is supposed similar to HTC Sense that is running on it’s Android phones, but not as customised. WP7 still has all the tiles that we are used to, but now we have some new gorgeous eye candy with HTC’s take on it. Such as the versions of the notes app, stocks app and the weather app. One thing I’m kinda confused about though, is the flower petal app. Not really sure why it is there, and pretty pointless in my opinion.

Microsoft has always said from when they announced WP7, that they were going to have tight control over the hardware and software. And ever since HTC was announced as a hardware partner, they’ve tried to customise WP7 heavily. But as you can clearly see, Microsoft has obviously stamped down on that, and limited HTC to the HTC Portal. Even though it may not be as customised as it is on Android, it is certainly prettier.

Anyway, check out the videos below and please excuse me, I need to go change my trousers.
