Huawei U8800 unboxing video

Just a few months ago Huawei launched the IDEOS. At the time it was the first Android handset to ship with 2.2 FROYO and there was a lot of interest in the little device. However, as much as we liked the IDEOS and the value for money it represented we felt that it was slightly on the small side. Indeed if the feedback we received is anything to go by many of you had the same thoughts.

So here we have the newer Huawei U8800 which is a bigger handset, also offering Android 2.2, and similar features to the IDEOS but with a 3.8 WVGA display. Could be just what we need, a high-spec, low-cost Android device on the market just in time for Christmas. It’s also the first handset to feature HSPA+!

Note that I has some issues with the WiFi on the U8800 that we have in for review BUT I should point out that we are literally one of the first sites to have the device and that it’s not yet running final retail ROM and as such don’t panic about the WiFi!

Motorola Defy unboxing video – Retail Version

Hopefully you saw our first Motorola Defy video where we put the device through its paces with some scratch and water tests. Clove have now kindly sent us the full retail version so I thought we had better show you what you get in the box.

Our review unit is now with our man Vince so expect the full review in the next week or two.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 unboxing video

The X8 is the latest in the Xperia range and is the X10’s little brother. Sporting a 3 inch touch screen the Xperia X8 does run Android but at the moment it is only version 1.6 which may influence sales figures to be honest. That said, the X8 does come with some pretty nice specs and it both looks and feels good in the hand.

Once again Sony Ericsson have included their own user interface. Is this a good thing? I think that comes down to personal preference but what I will say is that it makes for an easy user experience which non phone geeks will love.

BlackBerry Bold 9780 unboxing video – Retail Version

I’m sure you saw our first unboxing video of the BlackBerry Bold 9780. Well that one was just a review device which came in its own special box so now I have the retail version I thought i had better show you what you get with it as there are a few things different.
