Huawei U8800 unboxing video
Just a few months ago Huawei launched the IDEOS. At the time it was the first Android handset to ship with 2.2 FROYO and there was a lot of interest in the little device. However, as much as we liked the IDEOS and the value for money it represented we felt that it was slightly on the small side. Indeed if the feedback we received is anything to go by many of you had the same thoughts.
So here we have the newer Huawei U8800 which is a bigger handset, also offering Android 2.2, and similar features to the IDEOS but with a 3.8 WVGA display. Could be just what we need, a high-spec, low-cost Android device on the market just in time for Christmas. It’s also the first handset to feature HSPA+!
Note that I has some issues with the WiFi on the U8800 that we have in for review BUT I should point out that we are literally one of the first sites to have the device and that it’s not yet running final retail ROM and as such don’t panic about the WiFi!
