EU elections today! … and there is an app for that!

Elections to European Union (EU) parliament are starting today. These elections will last till Sunday as they take place in various countries on various days. UK and Netherlands will be the first EU countries to vote (June 4th!). EU consists of 27 countries and 498 million citizens. Since EU parliament takes decisions about all EU citizens, it is worth voting for. However if you have not registered for the vote previously, you will not be able to vote.

We have found only one app about EU elections 2009 and here is how this app looks like (note: it is for UK so it includes flags of British nations and Welsh part is even in Welsh language!):

HTC Snap comparison pictures

We have just received the HTC Snap from Clove Technology to review and have taken a few pictures including some comparison shots with the iPhone 3G and Touch HD.

First impressions are the keyboard is fantastic, big well spaced out keys and a joy to type on. We are working on an unboxing video but until then take a look at the pictures after the break.

Interesting little review of the Giga-byte GSmart MS820. This 6.1 Professional device looks pretty nifty and has a rather swish interface however there seem to be a few problems with the device as a whole. Check after the break for the video.

June is going to be one crazy month

Yesterday we received an email about an HTC Event in London on the 24th June, add this to what we already know about what’s happening in June and it all adds up to one crazy month ahead.

First our US readers will get the chance to get their own hands on the Palm Pre, this Saturday to be precise, then our radars tune in to WWDC where we expect the button to be pressed on iPhone OS 3.0 and a new iPhone with loads of extra features, well if the rumours are to be believed it will have space rockets built into it and the moon will soon become a popular holiday destination for iPhone users.

After that we should see Samsung’s first attempt at Android hitting Europe, a great spec on the phone and the first Android device with a 3.5mm headset jack.

Google have launched an online resource of ebooks with a mobile gateway. Whilst there isn’t a huge amount of content right now it could be a one stop shop for your reading needs one day. In the mean time you can relax on your android phone or iphone and catch up on some classics.

Nokia N97 to begin selling worldwide in June

Orange introduces first ever £5 pay monthly contract but its a 36 month deal!

Orange today announces that it is extending its Pay Monthly (PAYM) range to include a £5 tariff, the lowest contract price point on the market, alongside new £10 and £15 monthly plans. Available from 1st June 2009, these 36 month great value plans provide customers with two handsets – one when they sign-up and another after 18 months. Orange will also introduce 18 month SIM Only contracts for the first time which provide customers with more inclusive minutes and text messages offering better value than ever before.

Since iPhone has capacitive display it is easy to make apps that simulate reality. Such games on resistive touch-screen displays would be impossible practically because you would press something and then wait long time for answer that would never come.

Most apps that simulate some stuff are vanity apps for fun. We can’t imagine that this revolver app can be used for any useful purpose, but you can play Russian roulette with it and you can just show it off (but be careful that policeman could pull real gun in reaction!).
