If you are waiting for the next round of HTC Android phones you now have not too much longer to wait. Although HTC have said nothing official about the Desire HD and the Desire Z I have been told by a rather reliable source that we can expect shipment in the early part of October.
We have an HTC event to attend on the 15th of September however I think we may get a bonus here in the form of a Windows Phone 7 device. I do hope so. Anyway, roll on October.

The new BlackBerry Curve 3G may not be the most exciting BlackBerry that has been in the media lately but it does have some nice new features compared to its predecessor the BlackBerry Curve 8520.
The obvious and main one is that it now supports 3G, as the name suggests, which will be great for downloading apps, uploading photos and surfing the web.
Is the 9300 a worthy follow on and should you buy one if you are looking for a new smartphone? Only one way to find out and that is to read the review.
In a move to continue driving innovation, Nokia today unveils the super slim Nokia X3 Touch and Type, with a unique combination of a touch screen and traditional 12 button phone keypad. As Nokia’s first ‘Touch and Type’ phone, the Nokia X3 allows people to tap quickly on the bright color touch screen, as well as enjoy the familiarity of the full keypad for quick fire text messages and phone calls. Anticipated to be on sale in the third quarter, the Nokia X3 is expected to retail for approximately EUR 125, excluding taxes and subsidies.
“We continue to push innovation at all price points. The Nokia X3 brings new consumer value with a device that combines a touch screen and a keypad at an affordable price, offering consumers the best of both Worlds.” said Mark Loughran, Managing Director, Nokia UK.
We have now seen plenty of videos of BlackBerry 6 running on the BlackBerry Torch but what we have not seen much of, if al all, is it on a non touch screen device. The guys at bbleaks have released a video of OS6 running on a Bold 9650. Although we don’t have this device here in the UK I am hoping the experience will be much the same on the devices that will be eligible for an OS upgrade.
Enjoy the video after the break.

Available free on a £25, 18 month price plan including 5GB of mobile data, the new device makes it possible for Wi-Fi enabled products, such as laptops and tablet PCs, games consoles and music players, to simultaneously access to the internet through a single Vodafone mobile broadband connection, making it ideal for staying connected on the move.
The device is designed to be easy to set up and use, incorporating a display screen to provide information about the type and strength of signal available, Wi-Fi connectivity and battery life.

If you use a BlackBerry and also enjoy Twitter you may well already be using UberTwitter as in my opinion it is the best free Twitter app for BlackBerry.
The good news is that a new beta version is now available for download with a few nice tweaks. In particular the user interface has had a make over. Have a look at the mentions and direct messages tabs when you update.
Here is a quick summary from the developer:
We don’t normally cover stuff here that is non tech but I’m afraid that the story below has been a bit too close to home and I would really appreciate it if you would all take the time to watch the short video linked to the story.
Georgios Tsoulos is wanted by Hertfordshire Police for driving a motor vehicle that was responsible for the death of 20 year old Ricky Burlton from Enfield.
On the day of the collision, Tsoulos was transferred from North Middlesex Hospital to Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield where he was treated for injuries to his face. On 4 June he was due to be transferred to Moorfields Hospital in London for further treatment to an eye injury. A friend of Mr Tsoulos’ collected him from Chase Farm Hospital to transfer him to Moorfields and it was during this journey that he absconded. He has not been seen since.
It’s that time again. The time when HTC invite us to come and see what delightful phones they have been working on. The event will take place on the 15th of September at an undisclosed location in London.
So, what could it be? Well, it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out it will either be the next Android Device or the first HTC Windows Phone 7 device. Or it may even be both.
Either way we will be there to cover the news and get some hands on time with the device/devices.

The BlackBerry Curve 3G has not changed too much compared to its predecessor, the 8520, but the big difference is the added bonus of 3G.
There are also a couple of physical changes. The 9300 now has a chrome bezel similar to the 9700 and its battery cover is also new. No longer smooth but now with a kind of mottled affect.
With the UK carriers yet to announce which if them will sell the 9300 we are still in the dark when it comes to pricing but in the meantime we will crack on with the review.
Check out the unboxing video below.
