There has been a lot of reports recently about the very poor sound quality when using the HTC Diamond for voice calls, particularly from user in the US. We decided to carry out some tests with Edward from MSMobiles to see how the HTC Diamond sounds. To carry out the test we ran the Vito Audio Notes software on the Samsung i780 at the UK end of the conversation and Edward called me from his HTC Diamond.
As part of Vodafone UK’s commitment to making it easier to use Vodafone’s high speed network to access internet, email and popular music and TV services on the mobile, Vodafone is offering customers selecting an 18 or 24 month contract a variety of all inclusive bundles.

Another device turned up in the post for us to take a look at and this one is the Samsung SGH i780 Windows Mobile Professional device. This phone impressed us from the moment we opened the box and switched it on. The form factor is fantastic combined with a great front facing Qwerty keyboard.

They have posted a video on Youtube showing the Touch Flo 3D UI and it certainly looks muck more fluid. You can check out the video after the break.

Since the release of the HTC Diamond officially in the UK, its been great to read that HTC seem to have addressed a lot of the issues with the first wave of unofficial grey imports and preview devices that were being reviewed a few weeks back. Now the released devices are carrying a rom that is more recent than the review devices we have read about and it appears that this makes a huge difference to the performance.

Well the good news is iCall for the iPhone is coming and it will be available officially from the iTunes App Store. It is also rumoured to become available through usave broadband and phone deals. Not only will you be able to make calls over WiFi but also seamlessly transfer a mobile call over to VoiP which could save you a lot of minutes each month. It’s already working and you can check out the video after the break to see it in action and check out their FAQ’s
