Video demo of HTC Legend, Desire and HD Mini

htc-quietly-brilliant-logo1While at MWC this week I was very fortunate to get a one to one session with Eric Lin from HTC and his selection of new devices.

Although this was not my first time with the three new phones it was my first time having a private chat with Eric and what I can say is that he is a real nice guy. He was kind enough to give me a short demo of the Legend, Desire and HD Mini and each time I see all three of these devices they grow on me more and more.

Earlier this week Matt posted details for the new handsets. If you did not get the opportunity to see them you can click on the image titles below. The video of HTC Legend, Desire and HD Mini follow too and watch for the pounding that the HTC Legend takes at about 3:50 into the video, that’s one well built phone!

Alcatel go Android

DSCN0834

Alcatel the budget manufacturer are taking on the big boys with this attractive slider. Running Android 1.6 and due to receive the 2.1 upgrade the handsomely spaced Qwerty slider will please quite a few out there. Featuring a 2.8” touchscreen, A-GPS, 3G and Wi-fi the OT-980 is mainly aimed at the social networker. The keyboard is a little bigger than the Palm Pre or Treo Pro and is quite pleasant to use. The demo unit seemed to be broken as the screen wouldn’t turn on. Couple more pics after the break.

Else Intuition showing Access Linux Platform

DSCN0844

This grubby devil is the Else Intuition. Running v3.0 of the Access Linux Platform this is a big device with a rather striking screen and not to mention an interesting user experience. The Else has a 3.5” FWVGA, capacitive touchscreen with tactile feedback., 3G/HSDPA, Wi-fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 5mp camera and boasts a TI OMAP 3430 processor.

The Operating System is striking and senses be to very geared towards one handed use. It’s going to take some getting used to as it’s not the easiest to use straight off the bat. Some more pictures after the break:

Samsung Wave at MWC

Samsung Wave_GT-S8500_4 Well I am back from Mobile World Congress and the collection of videos I have are either in the process of being edited or else being uploaded to YouTube. There will be plenty of videos for you to have a look at over the next few days along with photos, press releases and other comments from the event in Barcelona.

One of the first things I wanted to see at the show was the Samsung Wave with the new Bada OS.  We’d heard a lot about Bada already so I was keen to go and play with it myself.

So the short video clip below is just a teaser of what’s to come. I do have a longer video uploading where a Samsung rep demos the OS to me and that will be posted later, just as soon as Matt finishes editing and uploading it. There are also tons of other videos of other devices to upload so please be sure to check back frequently!

As you will see I was rather impressed. The screen is amazing!
