After tons of info leaked already, the Blackberry Storm finally got the official treatment. It will be sold exclusively by Vodafone in Europe and Verizon Wireless in the US. Telius in Canada will also be pushing the device to local customers.
Blackberry Storm 9500
The Blackberry Storm is the first touch screen device by BlackBerry. It’s got a spanking new user interface, which as it seems is fluid enough to compete the Apple iPhone with an ease.
Now that the Blackberry Storm is finally announced and the specs are all clear, it turns out that it doesn’t pack Wi-Fi functionality as rumored.
The Blackberry Storm 9500 will be sold through Vodafone networks and will be free on monthly plans of 35 GBP and up with an 18-month contract.
Blackberry Storm 9530
The Blackberry Storm 9530 is the variant of the handset that will be sold in North America. Along with the quad-band GSM and 2100Mhz UMTS support that the 9500 model has, it will also offer CDMA2000 1xEV-DO support.

Having recently used and reviewed the Blackberry Bold with a similar design I think I would quite like to see how Windows Mobile handles on a device like this so feel free to ship one of these to us Motorola.
There is no news yet on the carriers or the pricing but you can be assured that we will release this info when we get it. The expectation for release is December sometime.

SPB Online is a fairly attractive program, we reviewed it here, and it provides a portal to premium SPB content. News is that they have updated the app to a 1.1 state. Have a look after the break at what they have done to attract your purchase.
Our latest podcast is now available to download, in episode 7 we discuss the Zune software coming to Windows Mobile, HTC Touch HD latest news, Fring software for the iPhone, I have the charge converter for the iPhone 3G, does it work with my car kit? and some info on Virgin and T-Mobile UK Networks and lots lots more. You can subscribe via iTunes, RSS or download the mp3 file here. Full show notes after the break.
Just had a tip off that the Blackberry Bold will be out of stock at Orange in the UK for 2-3 weeks due to quality issues. We reviewed the Bold a while ago and our review model had problems with the camera not functioning at all so this is no surprise to hear. If your after a Bold be patient or risk a below par model.

It seems every other day we are seeing leaks of this device and that device but today its the turn of Sony Ericsson. The Sony Ericsson Kate is reported to have a 5MP camera and will fall in as part of the Cyber-Shot range. Looking like a mix between the K770 and the C902 the Kate is also rumoured to have UMTS, xenon flash, camera mode switch and Smile shutter feature

Again like all these leaks I have nothing more than hearsay to tell you but I will be digging and calling contacts to see what else I can find out for you.

HTC may well have decided to launch their world first G1 in the US however they have decided not to release their new Touch HD phone there which is news that has rattled a few cages across the pond.
HTC Touch HD
HTC have advised that sadly, due to the engineering time required to get a North American 3G version in the pipeline, they would be better waiting until the next round of products launches. What this actually means is left open to interpretation but essentially the Touch HD will not be released in the US.
