It’s Sunday so we thought we would bring you something a little light hearted and fun.
Drums for the iOS is a rather neat drumming application which is a little different to all the others in the iTunes store. AT 59 pence for both iPhone and iPad it wont break the bank but will give you hours of fun.
So what makes Drums unique compared to all the other drum apps out their?
You will have to watch the video for that, and no taking the mickey out of my virtual drumming skills please!
With the BlackBerry Torch 9800 now available in the UK I thought I would do another quick video showing you a few of what I think will be the most popular applications and features on the device.
I have been using the Torch for about three weeks now so hopefully my Torch skills are a little better than on my original video when I was at the BlackBerry Torch launch event.
Sadly my review device went back to RIM yesterday but I havn’t got long to wait for my own one. Clove are expecting delivery this week so my one should be with me soon.
If you are considering getting the Torch please feel free to use the Forum to ask any questions.
As promised, below is the second Windows Phone 7 video I recorded this week. This time a Microsoft dude (AKA Oded Ran) talked me through a few features on the new operating system.
Microsoft really do have some nice features on this new OS and in particular I love the people hub and how it integrates with your Facebook contacts. They have given some serious thought into giving us consumers what we want and making life easier for us by using a mobile device.
Enjoy the video and I hope that next time we get our hands on a WP7 phone it is to review it.
As I mentioned previously I was lucky enough to pop along to Microsoft’s HQ in London this week for a demo and a go myself with Windows Phone 7.
The device I used was an LG one which we have seen knocking about the web for some time. It is very much a prototype so please ignore the handset and focus on the software.
So how did I find WP7? Well I was reasonably impressed. My time with the device was limited so I will reserve final judgment until I have a review device but it certainly has some positive features. I am still not that keen on the home screen user interface but I think it will be one of those things that grows on you as you get more used to it.
Anyway, enough of me. Check out the video below and we have another to follow later with some demos from a Microsoft dude.
If you are a regular Skype user like me or you do a lot of voice dictation then having a good quality microphone is a must. However the next feature you may look for is wireless connectivity. I personally find hands-free or rather wire-free podcasting much more convenient.
The problem is that all too often the lack of cable also leads to a lack of quality. But with the Revolabs xTag Microphone you get quality and convenience, a wearable microphone and headphone combination.
The Revolabs xTag Microphone is a wireless microphone ideal for business schools or even video calling family and friends. With crystal clear clarity your audience will hear every single word. The microphone is light, slim and can be attached to a lapel or use the lanyard supplied. Using the lastest in audio technology to make sure you get heard.
Below you’ll find a brief unboxing video and we’ll have the review up for you soon. IT247.com is currently offering the xTag Microphone and the Facevision TouchCam N1 Webcam as an exclusive bundle.
A few weeks ago we were invited to the Huawei IDEOS launch event and managed to get our hands on the new Android device for a brief demo video. We have been impressed with this new little handset from Huawei, not least because it’s the first to ship with Android 2.2, but also because it is literally packed with features that you would expect to find on higher-end devices; capacitive touchscreen, turn-by-turn navigation and compass to mention just a few. Incredible when you learn that the price of the IDEOS is set to be between £99 and £129 when launched!
On Saturday I managed to get my hands on the full retail version of the Huawei IDEOS and recorded an unboxing and demo video for you which you will find below. We’ll have a full review for you over the next few weeks.
If you’ve ever used a webcam for talking to friends over MSN or Skype the chances are you’ve been limited to QVGA or maybe VGA quality video. Webcams tend to yield noisy, grainy results. However FaceVision are looking to change all this with their FV TouchCam N1 HD webcam which, I believe, is the first HD webcam to make it to market.
Capable of 720p at up to 22fps the N1 compresses and sends the video with H.264 compression. At the moment the N1 is only compatible with Windows PC’s running Skype 4.2 (with a special driver provided) but I hope that Mac version will be made available soon.
The Gadget Show are going to feature the N1 later in the week here in the UK but you saw it here first! The FV TouchCam N1 HD is currently exclusive to IT247.com so head over there if you want to pick one up!
The unboxing video follows:
As you can imagine I was rather excited when I got a phone call today from RIM to say that they had a Torch review unit in at long last. It seems like ages ago that I was at the launch event where we saw the live stream from the States where the Torch 9800 was launched on AT&T.
Now it our turn here in the UK. This is the first slider from RIM and I am reserving my thoughts on its success until I have used the device for a few days. It is kind of weird as I am used to using the Bold 9700 and an iPhone4 but not a combination of full QWERTY and a touch screen on the same device. It is going to take some getting used to.
Check out the unboxing below and keep your eyes peeled for the full review which should be online in the next week or so.
As promised, here you’ll find the full-length, HD version of HTC’s presentation yesterday. It’s a whopper! Over 40 minutes of video covering not only the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z but also the new HTCSense.com services.
So to coin a well used podcast phrase, ‘why not sit back, relax and satisfy your cravings’ with the video below!
Following on from the HTC event coverage yesterday here, as promised, is the first of the videos recorded at the event. In this video you’ll see a brief demo of the excellent new HTC Desire HD.
We’ll have a lot more to say about the Desire HD and HTCSense.com over the next days and weeks. I’ve also got a long video of the presentation itself that’s still in the process of uploading to YouTube – 2GB is going to take a while but check back again soon!
