£350 cashback this Bank Holiday at Phone4U with horrible deals
Gareth | May 3, 2010 |
Independent retailer Phones 4u has launched its biggest instant cashback deal ahead of the bank holiday weekend. However, I wouldn’t get too excited. Customers are being offered instant cashback or trade in up to the value of £350 from 29 April until the end of the bank holiday weekend when they sign up to one […]

Tesco Mobile Phone shops to pop up on every High Street
Gareth | May 3, 2010 |
Tesco has launched an all-out assault on Carphone Warehouse, with plans to open Tesco ‘Phone Shops’ on every high street and a major push into the contracts market. The supermarket giant is speeding up the rollout of 500 new phone shops. From this week, it will open three phone stores each week to deliver at […]

All smartphone platforms these days have voice guided satellite navigation but the reason I stumbled across Trafficmasters Smartnav is that on the BlackBerry there is not a decent navigation app here in the UK. Smartnav is different to most other sat nav apps. Not only do you not see an onscreen map whilst driving you […]

Sony Reader Pocket Edition PRS-300 Review
Matt | May 2, 2010 |
When it comes to eBook readers the Amazon Kindle (and Kindle DX) seems to get all the press but in fact there are several other makes and models of eBook reader to choose from. The Sony Reader Pocket Edition PRS-300 is just one of the smaller and less expensive units on the market and one […]
LG Ally video is quite amusing
Gareth | May 2, 2010 |
LG Ally is coming to save lives. Making reference to Android apps including Latitutude, OpenTable, and eBay we see some “heroes” in the background of the action in Ironman 2 using the Ally,,, efficiently. It’s a giggle and a much better ad than we are seeing from the rival’s at the moment.

Windows Phone 7 Q&A re Office Hub
Gareth | May 2, 2010 |
Spotted this interesting Q&A session with Microsoft Senior Product Manager Augusto Valdez about the Office HUB. Everything seems to be in order however there will be no PDF support and this will be require from Third party. I suppose this is no big problem and the device will probably ship with something Adobe-esq pre installed. […]

Gareth | May 2, 2010 |
A source “who’s been briefed on the matter” reveals that the Windows 7-based Intel-powered tablet from HP has been canned citing that “it’s too power hungry” as the reason for foregoing its further development and public release. Speculation is that a similarly designed HP tablet could be announced later this year with either Google Chrome […]

Are RIM working on a BlackBerry Pad?
James Richardson | May 1, 2010 |
The guys over at bbleaks.com are convinced that RIM are currently working on a BlackBerry pad. Apparently they have inside information and if past history is anything to go on then they may well be right. The word on the street is that RIM have ordered 8.9" display screens from Hon Hai. Please note that […]

Sony Ericsson Elm Unboxing video
James Richardson | May 1, 2010 |
The Sony Ericsson Elm is from their ‘Greenheart’ range which means it is eco friendly being made from recycled plastics etc. Not being a top end device I really don’t know much about the Elm but I don’t imagine there is that much to know. I get the impression that the Elm is one of […]

Twitter for Android is now available for download in the Android Market. Unfortunately it will only work on devices that have Android 2.1 so if you are still using an earlier version then I’m afraid you will have to carry on using your current Twitter app. I’m not an Android user and I don’t currently […]
