More HD7 Specs Leaked and Caught On Camera

HD7 vs Galaxy S

We had a little break from HD7 leaks, but now they are coming back. As Engadget has received the tip from someone at O2 Germany which fully lifts the lid of the specs of the upcoming HD7 from HTC. Alongside being one of the first phones to be running Windows Phone 7 and having a 4.3″ screen, the tipster confirms a 1GHz processor, 8GB of storage, a 5 megapixel camera with a duel-LED flash, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi and a kickstand. Interestingly, one of the leaked documents says “Dolby Mobile Sound,” which if true, will be awesome!

The German O2 guy is also saying that the HD7 will launch in Germany in just two weeks for €559 (about £490). See below for the video and more pictures.

Drums for iOS – Video

drums1

It’s Sunday so we thought we would bring you something a little light hearted and fun.

Drums for the iOS is a rather neat drumming application which is a little different to all the others in the iTunes store. AT 59 pence for both iPhone and iPad it wont break the bank but will give you hours of fun.

So what makes Drums unique compared to all the other drum apps out their?

You will have to watch the video for that, and no taking the mickey out of my virtual drumming skills please!

BlackBerry Torch 9800 Best Bits – Video

BlackBerry_Torch_9800_620x400

With the BlackBerry Torch 9800 now available in the UK I thought I would do another quick video showing you a few of what I think will be the most popular applications and features on the device.

I have been using the Torch for about three weeks now so hopefully my Torch skills are a little better than on my original video when I was at the BlackBerry Torch launch event.

Sadly my review device went back to RIM yesterday but I havn’t got long to wait for my own one. Clove are expecting delivery this week so my one should be with me soon.

If you are considering getting the Torch please feel free to use the Forum to ask any questions.

Another Windows Phone 7 demo video

WP7

As promised, below is the second Windows Phone 7 video I recorded this week. This time a Microsoft dude (AKA Oded Ran) talked me through a few features on the new operating system.

Microsoft really do have some nice features on this new OS and in particular I love the people hub and how it integrates with your Facebook contacts. They have given some serious thought into giving us consumers what we want and making life easier for us by using a mobile device.

Enjoy the video and I hope that next time we get our hands on a WP7 phone it is to review it.

Windows Phone 7 hands on video

Windows-Phone-71-e1282045340363

As I mentioned previously I was lucky enough to pop along to Microsoft’s HQ in London this week for a demo and a go myself with Windows Phone 7.

The device I used was an LG one which we have seen knocking about the web for some time. It is very much a prototype so please ignore the handset and focus on the software.

So how did I find WP7? Well I was reasonably impressed. My time with the device was limited so I will reserve final judgment until I have a review device but it certainly has some positive features. I am still not that keen on the home screen user interface but I think it will be one of those things that grows on you as you get more used to it.

Anyway, enough of me. Check out the video below and we have another to follow later with some demos from a Microsoft dude.

HTC Desire HD ROM ported to numerous other HTC devices

desire

The Desire HD was only announced not long ago (it’s not even been released yet!) but over at xda, they have not only got their hands on the rom, but have managed to port it already to a multitude of other devices, including the HD2, original Desire, Evo 4G, and the Droid Incredible. Yes, we may not have the Evo 4G or the Incredible, but for frustrated WinMo users and their love-hate relationship with HD2, this could be a godsend!

As with all rom flashing, they’re not without risk, and expectedly there are features (like the camera) that aren’t working yet. Given a bit of time though and maybe the release of the Desire HD, we should see the new Sense and the full hardware feature set implemented – for now, consider it just a taster of what’s to come.

For the already excellent HTC Desire, there is more good news – the ridiculously fast boot up time as seen at the launch event in London is now possible on the Desire. Click through for the video.

South Yorkshire Police get a BlackBerry solution (Video)

blackberry_logo

I know this isn’t really mobile news but I think it is pretty interesting not only as I’m a BlackBerry fan but it’s nice to see corporate organizations are still turning to BlackBerry when we hear so much about how many are switching away from BlackBerry to iOS and Android.

As you will see in the video below South Yorkshire Police have conducted a trial and currently have issued 1000 BlackBerry devices to their staff with a view to roll out a further 2000.

The whole point of this is to make officers more efficient and the study has proven this. Of course the force has a couple of special applications that you and I wont get our hands on. This will give officers access to certain databases which historically they would have needed to be in the police station to use.

See the video after the break:
