Those cheeky chaps at Samsung are once again teasing us about what it is they have to unveil at Mobile World Congress in under two weeks. A short while ago we had the new image appear on samsungunpacked.com that led us to believe a sequel to the Galaxy S maybe coming. Now when you hit the site there is a  new video with lots of people holding a mystery phone. As you will see in the video the phone itself cannot be seen as it appears within a glow of bright golden light.

You can see the video after the break.

Ringtone Remix for BlackBerry – Video

RingTone Remix 20101219at9.53.43PM

Ever wanted just a particular section of a music track as your ringtone? Maybe the chorus or a guitar riff? Well if you use a BlackBerry you can do just that by using Ringtone Remix. The application will allow you to select any part of a music track and use it as your ring tone. The length is up to you. It can be two seconds or 2 minutes.

As you will see in the demo video, achieving the remix is pretty straight forward and a quick process. Using the application for the first time can be a little frustrating as the controls are rather sensitive but be patient, you will adjust.

The application will not be up everybody’s street and I didn’t think it would be up mine but for the last week I have had a remix as my ringtone and it’s here to stay!

Ringtone Remix can be found in BlackBerry App World. Either search on your BlackBerry or click here if on a PC/Mac.

Sanyo Xacti VPC-CA100 unboxing video

i_pic03_02 If you’ve been to our site much in the past of have watched many of our unboxing videos then you’ll probably know that we’re quite fond of Sanyo’s Xactia range of HD camcorders. In fact we have been using a Xacti HD1010 to record our unboxing videos for the past few years. I like the quality of the recordings and the convenience of the SD card and standard MP4 video format makes it easy to use and edit the footage.

A few days ago Sanyo sent us their latest Xacti CA100. Similar in design to their previous pistol-grip style cameras the CA100 offers 1080P video recording and is waterproof to a depth of 3m. This is a good improvement over earlier waterproof models, such as the CA9, which were limited to 720P and waterproof to a depth of just 1.5 metres. Oh and the zoom is up from 5x to 12x as well.

There are numerous other enhancements but we’ll cover those when we get to the full review in about a week or so. For now enjoy the unboxing video below, recorded on the HD1010.

Samsung Galaxy Player 50 Demo Video

Samsung-Galaxy-Player-50

As promised when I did the unboxing video, below you will find a brief demo video of the Samsung Galaxy Player. I have been using the device for a week or so and although the full review is coming soon a video is always a bonus.

As you will see the device is pretty good when it comes to media and using the web browser but I have had some hiccups when it comes to playing games that I downloaded from the Android Market.

As a rival to the Apple iPod you will also see me compare the two devices side by side and conduct a little web browsing experiment to see which of the two loads web pages the quickest. You will have to watch to see the result!

Woman Sues Mall after CCTV captures her falling in fountain

image7264994g Ok this isn’t the kind of story you would normally get from us but when I saw this on CBS News it made ma laugh so much I had to share!

The woman was walking through the mall where she works texting on her phone as she went, not looking where she was going falls head first in to one of the mall fountains. This was all captured from more than one CCTV camera and the security guards monitoring found it so funny that they decided to post the video online.

Now the woman as come forward and is threatening to sue the mall as she claims that the security folks should have come to her rescue more rapidly and should also not have released the video. Not sure why she feels that the mall is negligent for her own daft mistake but what makes this story funnier, I think, is that no one even knew who the wamon in the video was until she came forward and now she is claiming that she is embarrassed! LOL
