Orange UK launches own brand Android tablet – the ‘Tahiti’

Roll up, roll up, get your Orange branded tablet here. Orange have teamed up with Huawei to announce the Tahiti, a super sleek and stylish Android tablet available from £69.99 on a price plan of £25 per month. Rolling out across Orange retail channels this week, the Tahiti is the first Orange branded tablet to be ranged by Orange in the UK.

Building on the success of the Orange branded mobile phone range, and continuing in the theme of offering outstanding value innovation, the Tahiti from Orange provides users with a tablet experience traditionally associated with a more high-end device. Running the Android Honeycomb operating system, the Tahiti also provides access to thousands of free apps from the Android marketplace and full Adobe Flash Player support.

Stylish and lightweight, offering great portability by weighing just 390g, the Tahiti also features a 7″ multi-touch LCD screen and a dual core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor, allowing users to surf the internet and watch films with ease when they’re on the go.  Available in a slate black and silver finish, the Tahiti also features a 5 mega pixel camera, AGPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth as well as a 3G+ connection.

RIM Showcases New BlackBerry 7.1 OS at CES

A wide range of software improvements await BlackBerry 7 smartphone customers at the BlackBerry booth at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2012). Research In Motion (RIM)  is showcasing the new BlackBerry 7.1 OS as well as updates to the BBM (BlackBerry Messenger), BlackBerry Traffic and BlackBerry Travel apps. The new OS and app updates make seizing and sharing the moment even easier.

BlackBerry 7.1 will begin rolling out from carriers around the world beginning today and over the coming weeks. The new releases of BBM, BlackBerry Traffic and BlackBerry Travel will be available on BlackBerry® App WorldT beginning today.

Acer unveiled the world’s thinnest Ultrabook with the Aspire S5, an ultra-slim device that measures only 15 mm at the maximal point. It weighs less than 1.35 kg (less than 3 lbs.) and is built with a 13.3-inch (34 cm) LCD. Everything Everywhere rolls out its interactive advertising to T-Mobile users

Everything Everywhere has started the roll out of its interactive SMS/MMS mobile advertising service to selected segments of the T-Mobile customer base for the very first time. The new service which launches on T-Mobile this month, provides a powerful platform for brands to engage and interact with T-Mobile customers and follows the success of Orange Shots which launched last year.
