HTC couldn’t take a break after announcing the new Desire’s and all of the WP7 phones. Named the HTC Gratia, the newcomer is the European version of the HTC Aria on the AT&T network in the states. It comes with Android 2.2 with the old version of HTC Sense, not the new one seen on the HTC Desire HD and Desire Z. It also has a 600Mhz processor, a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 640×480, a 5 MP auto-focus camera and it comes in black, white and green.
The HTC Gratia will be available next month throughout europe, but no word yet of carriers or prices.

We wont be seeing this one anytime soon here in the UK, if at all. The BlackBerry style is a CDMA device and will be exclusive to Sprint. An acquired taste this one I think.
Over in the States 100 million people use a flip phone so it kind of makes sense for RIM to come up with this design which is there first BlackBerry flip with a full QWERTY on board. The Style is also the first CDMA device to launch with BlackBerry 6.
The BlackBerry Style rocks the 5 megapixel camera found in the Torch and also has GPS and Wi-Fi. 512MB of internal memory are there to power BlackBerry 6 and a 8GB memory card comes in the box for media. You also get a choice of two colours – Steel Gray and Royal Purple.
I would love to get my hands on one of these but I fear that will not happen.

If you have not seen the latest Windows Phone 7 advert on the television you can do so after the break. The advert very much takes the mickey out of other platforms, in particular BlackBerry, insinuating we are heavily engrossed in our phones and WP7 will make life easier for us. Me, engrossed with my BlackBerry? Surely not!
Anyway, from what we have seen of the new operating system it may well be quick and easy for us too complete a task but so much quicker than other OS’s? Nor sure about that one.
We should see the first of the Windows Phone 7 review devices rolling out this week so keep your eyes peeled for videos etc.
It’s been a while since we looked at laptops or netbooks but with a seeming ‘new wave’ of these devices hitting the market, presumably to because we are nearing Christmas, we thought it was about time to have a look at what £250 can get you these days.
First-up we are looking here at the Toshiba Mini NB250. This one has been on the market for a little while but as the price has now come down a little this appears to be, on the face of it, a good value netbook. With a run-time of 8.7 hours (claimed) it could be ideal for students.
In the video below you’ll see me unbox the NB250 and have a quick look around the hardware. Over the next few weeks we’ll have a review of the NB250 for you. If you’ve already made your mind up to buy one IT247.com have just dropped the price of this one to just £254.99
I discovered the following video over on the iPhone blog and thought I should share it with you here too. After we demoded ‘Drums’ for the iOS a couple of weeks ago I thought this would be a great follow on to show you the endless musical capabilities of the operating system.
New York band Atomic Tom forgot to take there instruments on the subway but luckily enough they had there iPhones with them and were able to give a live performance whilst travelling.
As you will see the iOS really delivers some great musical opportunities and Atomic Tom go to prove that.
Check out the video below and if you like the sound of Atomic Tom why not subscribe to them on YouTube.
The HTC Surround and 7 Pro are both devices that we in the UK are not likely to see this year. HTC have posted short videos of both that you can see below.
The HTC 7 Pro is the device that will be here next year at some point and will be open to all UK carriers, so HTC told me. Not sure about the Surround though. I think we may miss out on that one. Shame as it looks a right bobby dazzler!
Videos after the break:
Perennial iPhone favourite, Rovio’s Angry Birds has finally left the beta stage and is now a fully fledged released product for Android handsets. You’ll need to be on 1.6 or about, be able to run Open GL ES 2.0 and have a display larger than QVGA (320 x 240) and currently it’s only available from getjar.com and Motorola SHOP4APPS. No word on a release date onto the Android Market but it can’t come soon enough with the getjar page currently down through what I guess to be quite a pounding.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Angry Birds phenomenon, it’s one of those games with a very simple premise but it still offers a good challenge. Best described as an Avian catapult kamakaze simulator with a touch of Worms, the titular birds are somewhat peeved by their eggs being stolen by an up-to-no-good group of pigs – green at that. The idea is the birds are so angry at this loss, they are prepared to sacrifice their own lives to destroy the flimsy dwellings built by the green pigs (pigs, it appears, just don’t get excel in construction), and to this end the player fires them from a catapult into the birds dwellings to destroy both the pigs inside and the properties outside. Different birds have different uses – the yellow fast one to barrage through wood to the little blue cluster bird. It’s clever and requires more thought about gravity than you might imagine.
Angry Birds is one of those games (like Mario) where you feel mistakes are by you and not the game, so you keep on trying. That, plus its pick-up and play nature makes it a great game, and a total bargain for zero pence. Now there is no reason to miss it.

LGs only Windows Phone 7 option for the UK is the Optimus 7. Size wise it is in the same band as the HTC 7 Trophy with a 3.8 inch screen. I haven’t been too excited with LG phones over the past few years but they have given this one some thought and have a few very nice and unique features that the other Windows phone 7 devices do not have.
In the video below you will see how I didn’t understand one or two features so I went and grabbed an LG expert and he gave me a demo of the good bits.
After the success of their recent ‘meet up’ following the Desire HD and Desire Z event HTC are doing it again. This time it has a Windows Phone 7 theme and all the new HTC WP7 devices will be on hand for the attending to play with.
The venue is once again in Central London and if you fancy going you can check out the Facebook event page here.
You may even see Matt and I there. If you do please come and say hello.

We have been pretty much snowed under this week with Windows Phone 7 news. We must not forget that the HTC Desire HD is coming very soon and as from today you can put in a pre order with Vodafone. The Desire HD is available from free on a 24 month contract if you don’t mind one of that length.
The device is currently showing as being available from October 22nd although we all know this is subject to change.
See a reminder of the specs after the break….
