Apple has announced a special press conference about its problematic iPhone 4 – prompting speculation of a recall.
The conference will be held today at 6PM UK time and will address the ‘death grip’ that so many people are having issues with.
Will we see a fix for the problem or maybe some compensation? Either way I am not having the problems that others are. I have not had a single dropped call. I must be holding it right!
We will endeavor to bring you the details from the press conference tonight.

The new Apple iPhone 4 is without doubt the one phone that has had the most attention this year. With a new design and improved specification the iPhone 4 is more than worthy of sitting in top place in the smart phone wars but how does it truly compare in my opinion with the many top of the range Android devices that are constantly hitting the market?
With some data issues from day one Apple have made various excuses and seem to be happy with the consumer spending extra money on a bumper to solve the problem. Is this issue a problem for me and will it affect sales? You will have to read on to see what I think about it.
As you may have seen us mention on the blog or on Twitter, last night Matt and I recorded our weekly mobiletechaddicts podcast and had a special guest, Mike Fairman, the boss of GiffGaff.
We put to him a selection of your questions and our own and the interview went extremely well with Mike confirming a few facts we were not sure of and also a few future ones.

At last RIM have decided to give us an official glimpse of what will can expect from BlackBerry 6. As you will see, the video is very much orientated at a touch screen device and looks to work well. We know we will see BlackBerry 6 on the forthcoming 9800 Slider and more than likely on a Storm 3 if that is made but what about the majority of us that already have a non touch screen BlackBerry. Not only do we need to know for sure that ‘6’ will run on non touch screen devices but more importantly will it run on our current phones such as the Bold 9800 or the Curve 8520. Please tell us RIM? We need to know.

You may have seen that I recently did a quick post mentioning that mobilefun had a nice new range of iPhone 4 cases. To follow on from that and to tackle the ‘death grip’ problem, that many people are having with the iPhone 4, mobilefun are giving away free cases!
The cases are made from non conducting silicone gel which acts as an insulator to prevent your hand from causing signal drop issues. How jolly decent of them!

driphter.com have posted a rather nice video of the forthcoming BlackBerry web kit browser on their site. As you will see they don’t think that this is the finished product but even now it performs at a fantastic speed.
The browser is demoed on the BlackBerry 9800 Slider that we are hoping to see in the next few months. If you missed the video we posted on that device earlier in the week you can see it here.
We have not seen many detailed demos of the new browser so this one is most welcoming. I think us BlackBerry users are in for a nice treat in the future.
The dilemma for me will be if I keep using my Bold 9700 or switch over to the 9800.

If you are after the HTC Wildfire sim free we have some good news. devicewire.com will have the Wildfire in stock over the next day or two so if you want one you had better get your orders in quick as I think this one will be pretty popular.
