With the device being announced just less than 24 hours ago Devicewire have already been alerted to their first shipment which will be due in soon although no date is conformed at this point. You can however pre order the 9780 sim free from them to ensure you are one of the first to get it.
The BlackBerry Bold is essentially an upgrade to the 9700. They look very very similar, with the 9780 having a black bezel running around it instead of the silver one on the 9700, but the 9780 has a few extra internal changes. Memory rises to 512mb, the camera is improved to 5mp and best of all we get the new OS, BlackBerry 6.
To pre order just follow this link.

This week saw the second of HTC’s recent meet ups. This time it was to show off their Windows Phone 7 handsets so I went along to a venue in Central London to check out what they had to offer.
Here is a brief summary of the evenings events:
Virgin Media have confirmed the roll out of their 100Mb broadband service this year, saying it will be available to 12.7 million homes.
Neil Berkett, Virgin Media’s chief executive officer, humbly described the launch of the service as, "a historic moment." It "will mean the UK will be comparable to other leading broadband nations," he said.
Those who were hoping that the increased downstream speed would mean an equal increase in upstream bandwidth are in for a treat – the company has confirmed that the 100Mb/s service will also feature an impressive 10Mb/s upload rate.
The 100Mb/s service, which replaces the company’s current 50Mb/s connection as its flagship offering, will cost £35 per month when bought as a bundle with telephone and TV offerings, or £45 per month as a stand-alone product.
Interested? You can pre register here.
Being a Virgin media customer myself I have registered my interest. Could come in rather handy for video uploads.

Waterloo, ON – Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today introduced the BlackBerry® BoldT 9780 smartphone – the newest addition to the BlackBerry Bold series of smartphones. Featuring a premium and iconic design with an incredibly easy-to-use keyboard and optical trackpad, the BlackBerry Bold 9780 is elegantly styled and packed with advanced communications and multimedia features. It is also the first BlackBerry Bold smartphone to come with the new BlackBerry® 6 operating system.
"We are very excited to introduce the BlackBerry Bold 9780 featuring the new BlackBerry 6 operating system,” said Carlo Chiarello, Vice President, Product Management at Research In Motion. “This new model builds on the highly refined mobile experience that BlackBerry Bold users already know and love and delivers a wide range of enhancements including a rich new user interface, a fast and powerful WebKit-based browser, broadly improved communications and multimedia capabilities, an incredibly useful Universal Search feature and a high quality 5MP camera.”
Kevin over at crackberry.com got his hands on the new BlackBerry Style and has done a nice video overview and first thoughts. We have mentioned the device a couple of times even though it is not likely to come here to the UK. Over in the States the Style is exclusive to Sprint who are a CDMA network. This kind of messes up any plans to get it over here on our GSM networks.
Having a flip form factor BlackBerry is very much an acquired taste but with millions of Americans loving that form factor the BlackBerry Style is sure to sell.
Check out Kevin’s video below and feel free to let us know what you think of the Style in the forum.
We posted last week that Devicewire had the HTC Desire HD in stock and nothing has changed, however they have also told us that they are the only UK retailer that does have the device and this may be the case for the next week or so.
So if you want to get your hands on the Desire HD you had better head on over to devicewire and get your order in.

It was only a week or two ago that HP and Palm officially announced the Palm Pre 2 and now they have followed it up with a commercial. I’m not sure if this has aired yet and I don’t think we see it here in the UK for a while but as you will see the device and webOS 2.0 looks pretty hot.
Here is what the Palm Pre 2 has to offer:
webOS 2.0 offers consumers compelling application experiences not available on any other platform, while providing developers an unparalleled level of openness to integrate their applications and services. The next generation of webOS makes it easier to get more done:
You will be pleased to know that our review of the HTC 7 Mozart and Windows Phone 7 will be ready for publishing in the next couple of days. If you have been thinking of getting the Mozart but are not due for an upgrade the word on the street is that you can get the HTC 7 Mozart from Orange on PAYG.
It is not cheap at £399.99 but thousands of us buy sim free phones every year so I am sure that Orange will sell plenty of them.
You can get the Mozart either online or at your local Orange retail store.
