Adobe Flash Player for Smartphones Coming later this year

image Adobe have announced that it will release a beta version of its Flash player for some smartphones before the end of this year.

This company has made getting Flash support onto smartphones as a top priority. In previous years it has tried doing this with scaled down versions, but recently admitted defeat for this strategy. The new plan is to bring the full version of Flash to most devices.

Adobe said today that a beta of Flash Player 10 for smartphones will be introduced at its MAX conference this October.

Coming To Some Models
In today’s announcement it didn’t give any details on which smartphones this player will be supporting. However, Adobe said recently that it’s working on a beta version of a Flash player for Google’s Android, Palm’s webOS, and Nokia Symbian S60. When the company was first talking about this software last year, it included Windows Mobile on the list of supported operating systems.

The outlook is less rosy for two of the biggest mobile platforms, though.  Adobe does not know when versions of Flash will be available for Apple’s iPhone or RIM’s BlackBerry models. There are apparently either technical or business issues blocking these two.

NAVIGON, the first professional navigation solution for the iPhone available now

image We know TomTom is coming but we don’t know when it will be here and Navigon have beaten them to the punch with a proper Turn by Turn application for iPhone 3G and 3GS running the 3.0 Firmware.

It only carries European maps at the moment from Navteq and no mention if this will be expanded to other parts of the world in the future but if your desperate for a full GPS iPhone solution you can get it now.

I have personally used both platforms in the past on Windows Mobile devices and have been happy with both so would not consider this to be an inferior platform in any way.

Available from the App Store priced at £54.99 including all the European maps and it seems like you have to install them all which equates to a whopping 1.65 Gigs, really glad I got the 32 Gig 3G S yesterday 🙂

More details after the break with complete map details and languages.

Copy/Paste in iPhone OS 3.0 kicks Windows Mobile copy/cut feature by light years!

Usually we don’t bother about reporting new features in new versions of iPhone OS – instead we are an app junkies and prefer to search new apps for some gems and tell you about them here at Mobile Tech Addicts. However the implementation of copy/paste in iPhone OS 3.0 is gobsmacking. Here we are reviewing it for your enjoyment and pleasure.

Firstly one must notice that copy&paste in iPhone makes it possible to use some web applications because now entry of complicated things is possible via copy and paste:
