I think that we’ve probably reviewed all of the Sansa MP3 player models from SanDisk’s range from the Sansa e200 series a few years ago and now to this latest Sansa Clip+ model.
In the past the Sansa models have impressed us, offering good sound quality and stunning battery life. What’s more they are all quite inexpensive and, I think, a good alternative to the likes of the iPod as long as you can do without iTunes integration.
The SanDisk seem to be making these little players to last too as I first reviewed the Sansa e270 back in 2006 and the little player still works perfectly and the battery life is showing no signs of diminishing!
The Clip+ is basically an updated version of the Sansa Clip that we saw back in 2008. This new version is smaller and lighter than the earlier model and also now has a microSDHC memory card slot that can take up to 32GB memory cards which, coupled with the 4GB internal memory gives you a whopping 36GB, plenty of space for a tiny player I would think!
Have a look at the video after the jump for a quick tour around the player and a brief look at the menus.
Well we’re all pretty certain that Microsoft will be making some announcements about Window Mobile 7, or Windows Phone 7 as it should be called now, at MWC early next week. The guys from Engadget have managed to dig up something interesting. Outside Microsoft’s hotel, Hotel Catalonia, you’ll find a large banner with the words Windows Phone and an area just underneath covered with a big white sticker.
Using their digital camera and some Photoshop magic they’ve managed to reveal what’s sitting under that sticker it is ‘7 Series’ making it officially Windows Phone 7 Series then!
Personally I don’t think we’ll see to much of the new OS, maybe some fairly teasing screen shots and a lot of talk about features but it’s my guess that there’s still some to go before we see WM7, my money is on Q4 2010.
James will be at the Microsoft press conference on Monday so we’ll be sure to send you the news as we get it!

It’s been a long time since we reviewed the Nokia N97, August 2009 in fact. The N97 was pretty popular but it was widely reported to have some stability and performance issues. The N97 Mini, as the name suggests, is a smaller version of the N97. Released at the end of 2009 it offered much the same as its bigger brother and virtually the same specification in a more compact package, having a 3.2″ screen versus the 3.5″ of the N97 and some 12 grams lighter.
Control.
Stay in control of your email, calendar and music with dedicated widgets for your home screen. Move content around your home screen and place it anywhere you like by dragging your finger across the touch sensitive display.
Style.
The N97 mini feels as good as it looks with its wide-screen multi-sensory display, QWERTY keyboard and sleep metal finish. View web pages , videos, photos and maps at a natural 35-degree angle on the innovative 3.2" tilting display.
As you’ve come to expect from us by now we have an unboxing video below which tours the hardware and takes a quick look at user interface. It’s essentially the same user experience as the original N97. We’ll have a full review for you over the next couple of weeks but feel free to ask your questions in the mean time.
You’ll find the video after the jump.
Ok this is my first review so I hope you have as much fun reading it as I did playing with this camera! When I opened the box I was rather pleased to see a cool looking red video camera staring at me. Right away I can tell you that for basic use, you can pick this camera up and without having to even look at the manual perform the basic tasks such as, taking pictures and videos, browsing through the material you have snapped or recorded and even deleting the unwanted shots is easy as 1-2-3.
What’s in the box?
- Sanyo Xacti CA9 HD video camera
- Battery charger
- Power cable UK outlets
- Power cable EU outlets
- Micro USB – AV TV connection
- Micro USB – USB 2.0 connection
- Camera holding pouch
- Instruction manual & quick guide
- Wrist strap
- Installation CD
- Warning cards regarding the waterproof features.

You may have seen our Motorola Milestone review a little while, if so you’ll know that we were pretty impressed with the handset, certainly the best QWERTY keyboarded Android device out there at the moment in our opinion.
So how would you like to enable USB-Host mode on your Motorola Milestone (aka Motorola Droid)? Having a hunt around the web a few days ago I discovered that a clever chap, Chris Paget, has come up with a way to use USB storage devices on the Milestone. It’s a bit of a hack, you’ll have to make your own USB cable and ‘dongle’ in order to do it but if you head over to Chris’s website you’ll find full instructions on how to do it!
Rumours of a new HTC device starting to surface, Tweets from two different people this morning mentioning the HTC HD Mini. Very little information about the rumoured handset but I wonder is this may actually be the ‘new’ name for the device we believed to be the HTC Diamond3.
We assume that it’ll have atleast a HVGA display and guess that it’ll have a screen of between 3″ and 3.5″. Will it be Windows Mobile or Android? Again, we assume WinMo to fall in line the other HD branded models but who knows!
If anyone knows more we’d be happy to hear from you. We’ll be sure to get back to you when we find out more!

News of Google’s latest new service seem to be everywhere this morning. I’m talking about Google Buzz. This new service aims to compete with the likes of Twitter and Facebook by adding social networking elements in to your existing GMail account.
Buzz automatically follows the people you email and chat with the most in Gmail without seting it up and you can share your ideas publicly or privately just like any other social network.
Buzz is not available to everyone yet, it seems that only our US friends have the BUZZ button added to their GMail accounts so far. Some people not in the US report having some success in enabling buzz by going in to their Google account settings and changing their language to English(US) and their location to USA. If you try this then remember to log out of Google, clear your cookies and then log back in. Does it work for you? I’ve not had any luck!
For the rest of us then, all we can do for now is buzz.google.com from your iPhone and Android handset to have a play with it.

We mentioned the extended battery for the HTC HD2 quite some time ago and you may also recall that we said it would come with a funky kickstand. Images have surfaced on the web and our friends over at Clove Technology have added the product to their site and are offering pre-order.
The battery is 2300mAh, almost double that of the original HD2 battery. It’s supplied with a cover that has its own ‘kickstand’ allowing you to sit the HD2 on your desk in a landscape orientation. Personally I think it’s a pretty ugly looking thing that makes the handset rather chunky but I suppose it depends on how you plan to use your handset.
If you fancy picking one up for your HTC HD2 then head over to Clove and pre-order today. Stock is due in March.
It is always good to have a big battery in a smartphone, so that you can work for longer without having to charge the phone. Larger batteries often mean a larger overall size, which isn’t for everyone.
However, sometimes the need outweighs the shape, aesthetics and weight of the product. So if this is the case for you and you own a HTC HD2, this extended 2300mAh battery will be ideal.
An official extended battery for the HTC HD2, this 2300mAh battery comes complete with a replacement back cover, that has a kickstand (allowing you to stand the device up – perfect if watching a film).

We first broke the news of this new Android powered LG handset back in September 2009 when John managed to unearth some photos of the handset while it was still referred to as the LG Etna. The trail turned cold on the Etna for a while until later in 2009 and at the beginning of 2010 when the handset was announced as reportedly coming to Virgin and T-mobile in the UK and the name here would be the LG GW620.
The LG GW620
At the moment it looks like the GW620 is going to be exclusive to Virgin and T-Mobile, I’ve not seen anyone offering it SIM-free as yet. (Feel free to tell me if you know any different!) The GW620 looks like a decent handset and the most striking thing for me is the quality of the QWERTY keyboard, it’s really on-par with the HTC Touch Pro2 in that department; large individual keys, good layout and 5 rows – all very impressive.
I’ve had a quick play with this handset already since recording the video below, and quite like it but there are a few niggles. Being only Android 1.5 seems like a real shame when 2.0 and 2.1 handsets fill the rest of the market. 1.5 may have been ok when the handset first surfaced last year but now it’s bit behind the times! There are a few other things to tell you about it but you’ll have to wait for my review! 🙂
The LG GW620 specification:
- 3G Network: HSDPA 900 / 2100
- Dimensions: 109 x 54.5 x 15.9 mm
