Staff at branches of mobile phone retailer O2 have been sacked after using discounts to buy cheap Apple iPhones and then selling them on via the internet.
About half a dozen employees were dismissed from London stores after being caught scooping up job lots of the sought-after handsets.
According to The Sony Ericsson Blog the Xperia X1 has had a third update and will have an ‘Xperia Panel’ key and ‘Xperia’ logo under the screen as well as a second colour called X1 Steel Silver. We have to say that this device looks really nice in the silver and the more pictures we are seeing of it the more attractive its becoming. High resolution pictures following.
I just got this press release from NormSoft letting us know that they have just released their Pocket Tunes Deluxe music player for Windows Mobile, Smartphone and Palm. The software includes internet radio capability.

The software is designed to work on most other Windows Mobile 5 or 6 smartphones and PDAs, but others have not been fully tested at this time.

From June 1st Vodafone UK’s Mobile Broadband USB modems will be reduced from £99 to £49 on its 30 day contract price plans. The move is part of Vodafone’s commitment to making mobile broadband more accessible for consumers. The price of the ‘3.6mbps USB Modem’ (on all 12/18/24month contracts) will also be reduced by 50% from June 1.
Pocket Tunes has long been a favourite with Palm users and it is now been made available for Windows Mobile.
Not sure how much Kevin has a leg to stand on with this since he totally blew the last rumor a year ago with the launch of the iPhone. Check out his video, this is an interesting one and quite honestly not sure if I agree with this. What are your thoughts?
I was very lucky tonight to be able to accept an invitation from Mike Manna of the T4 Show to join him on his podcast to discuss mobile phones from a UK perspective. If you haven’t checked out Mikes site please do so and subscribe to his podcast as its a great show.
We chatted for nearly an hour about UK Networks, Windows Mobile and the iPhone and it was very enjoyable.
If anyone is considering getting a HTC Diamond and is a heavy texter and has concerns over not having a hardware keyboard, check out this video after the break.
The buttons look really large and easy to use and the response time is very impressive.
We’ve made a few changes to the site and the way in which some of the navigation works. There are lots of back end changes that you wont notice but the main changes are to the way in which you can view lists of all of our reviews and unboxing videos.

Well that really didn’t take long – the good people at XDA Developers managed to get their hands on the official WM 6.1 ROM for the HTC Touch Diamond and have already started to port the ROM so that it’ll work with the HTC TyTN II!!
I haven’t tried it out myself just yet but there are some excellent screen shots in the thread and plenty of feedback from those that have given it a try.
Latest news we have from HTC is that the Diamond will start shipping later this week/early next week. Cant Wait!
