Samsung shifts 10 million Galaxy SII smartphones

Samsung’s Galaxy SII with a seemingly no-compromise spec sheet has drawn some big attention, and now Samsung have the numbers to prove it. Just in the last eight weeks, Samsung have enjoyed their sales double from 5 million to 10 million, a truly impressive milestone to say the least, especially when one of the largest markets, the United States, hasn’t even contributed. Don’t expect these sales figures to slow anytime soon either; Samsung are prepping a £12 million advertising campaign for all their Galaxy devices for the rest of this year, and with the US variants of the Galaxy SII hitting retail just around the corner, no-one will be surprised when the next major milestone arrives even faster.

Samsung’s flagship smartphone continues success as multi-million pound Galaxy family marketing campaign is announced

26^th September 2011, London, UK – Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. today announced that the Samsung Galaxy S II has reached the 10 million milestone in global channel sales, doubling from five million in just eight weeks. Samsung UK further underlines its support and commitment to its family of best-selling Android devices by supporting the range with a £12 million, ‘Galaxy family’ marketing campaign in the run up to Christmas.

Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland said: “We’ve seen phenomenal sales of the Galaxy S II globally and in the UK specifically we’ve achieved record sales of Galaxy S II in recent weeks – ahead of all other Android devices. We have ambitious plans for the Galaxy family over the coming months evidenced by a £12 million marketing campaign which will launch next week.”
