BlackBerry Torch 9810 – Hands On Video

torch_9810_bottomangle_open_thumb

The BlackBerry Torch 9810 is the successor to the 9800 which has done pretty well in terms of sales. This newer version is so much better though. To look at it you may think that the only change is the fact that the battery door is now silver. How wrong you would be.

Like the Bold 9900 and Torch 9860, the Torch 9810 is powered by a 1.2Ghz processor and is running BlackBerry 7, the newest version of the the operating system. What this means is that gone are the days of your BlackBerry being laggy. This thing flies!

With the added bonus of a big screen plus the slide out hardware keyboard the Torch 9810 is suited to both media lovers as well as hard core messengers.

Rise of Glory for WP7 – Video

Rise of Glory

I am not a big gamer but every so often I find a game I cant stop playing. Rise of Glory for Windows Phone 7 is one of them. It has been around for ages however I only discovered it a week ago and that is when the addiction began.

If you like to fly planes and shoot stuff then this one is a must. A free trial is available and after that the full purchase will cost you £2.29, but is money well spent.

An amazing First World War flight simulator with arcade accents. Fly your favorite plane in the single player campaign or play skirmish user defined missions. Amazing graphics, realistic aircraft behavior, challenging AI, incredible game experience.

This app uses your phone’s:

  • data services
  • movement and directional sensor
  • music and video library
  • Xbox LIVE

You can see the demo video below:

samsung-bada-open-mobile-platform

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd, today announced the launch of bada 2.0 SDK (Software Development Kit), an application development tool for Samsung’s mobile platform which is expected to expand the global distribution of bada smartphones. Three new Wave smartphones, powered by bada 2.0, will follow later this year, ranging from premium models with enhanced performance to entry-level devices that focus on affordability.

The expansion of the bada platform follows the success of the seven existing Samsung Wave devices, which have seen significant global sales. They have proved extremely popular in Europe, China and Southeast Asia thanks to their affordability and functionality, whilst the user-experience and touch interface have helped introduce existing Samsung feature phone users to smartphone services and application experiences.

bada 2.0 includes a number of new features, including multi-tasking, Wi-Fi Direct, Near Field Communication (NFC) and voice recognition. It enables owners of smartphone devices to experience advanced services such as mobile payment, transport pass-card recharge and file sharing without Internet networking. Improved support for web applications such as Flash and HTML5, means users can enjoy enhanced web capabilities, and anyone with a smartphone based on bada 2.0 will be able to run any web application developed with Flash or HTML.

Samsung Galaxy W coming to Three – Video

samsung-galaxy-w

We mentioned yesterday about the four new Galaxy phones that Samsung announced. Three were quick of the mark to let us know that they will be stocking the Galaxy W soon.

Running on a 1.4GHz processor, the smartphone is one of the fastest devices in our portfolio.  It’s great at navigation, web browsing and using lots of apps at the same time.

The Galaxy W has a cool design and a 5MP camera which is great for those wanting to take loads of photos on an ultra-portable phone.  There is also Social Hub, a service provided by Samsung, which gathers all your messages, from Facebook, your work email, Twitter, LinkedIn, and puts them onto one page.  For those of you who haven’t already tried this, Samsung’s Social Hub works great on the new Galaxy W.

You can see a short video about the Samsung Galaxy below courtesy of the Three Blog.
