Dell Inspiron Mini now available at Vodafone

image As we reported last month, Vodafone now have the Dell Inspiron Mini’s available for free when you sign up for a 24 month mobile broadband contract. The difference with this offer compared with the other free netbooks is that the actual mobile broadband does not come as a USB dongle but it is actually built into the netbook. The benefits are no dongles hanging out your netbook and better battery life as your not powering a USB accessory. Full details and plan pricing after the break.

O2 Zest round the corner

o2_xda_zest Here is a little phone from Asus to be released by O2 under the Xda umbrella. It’s another Windows Mobile 6.1 device however this one will have a rather attractive undercarriage. Its something of a HTC Diamond eclipsed by the HTC Touch HD in a rather boring form factor. Look for it in November.

O2 XDA Zest makes appearance

OK so I cant tell you a great deal about this device, not because I have been sworn to secrecy by Asus or O2 but simply because I don’t actually have any information to give you.

The XDA Zest has appeared today on the O2 Coming Soon page saying:

This mobile phone will give you great access to functionality with a large screen, Wi-Fi, AGPS, and 3G. You also get a 5 Megapixel camera with 4GB built-in memory with expandable memory as well as quad band reach.

The only other thing we know for sure is that the device will be Windows Mobile based and that it’s not the rumoured Glaxy7 device.

Manufactured by Asus for o2 as and suggested to be a direct competitor to the Samsung Omnia, the Zest is expected sometime in November with a yet unknown price tag.

T-Mobile: “We’re all out of G1’s”

All stock already allocated to pre-orders as reports say 500,000 units could shift by Christmas.
T-Mobile says it has sold through all the Android-powered G1 handsets it has ordered from manufacturer HTC in advance of the October 22nd US launch.

In fact, reports from the Far East suggest that demand for the device is such that T-Mobile is on target to sell between 400,000 and 500,000 G1’s in the US and Europe by Christmas.

T-Mobile is apparently preparing a fresh order from HTC in the region of 1.5 to 2 million units.

In a statement regarding US launch availability T-Mobile said: "Given the great anticipation and the heavy pre-sale demand for the T-Mobile G1 with Google, we nearly tripled the number of phones initially available for delivery on our October 22 launch date, and have sold through them all."

The company says it will continue to accept pre-orders until October 21 for delivery at a later date.

The much-anticipated G1 costs $179 with a two-year voice and data contract.

The HTC-built device will also be available from T-Mobile UK beginning in November, and across Europe in the first quarter of 2009. Countries include Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

Samsung Cameras gives NV customers a year of 2 for 1 cinema tickets

6 October 2008 – Samsung Cameras, leaders in innovation and digital imaging, is giving away a year of 2 for 1 cinema tickets to customers who buy a camera from the award winning Samsung NV series from 13th October until 31st December 2008.

The Samsung Camera NV range is packed with the latest technology, stunning design and user friendly functions. Customers are sure to find the right camera for them in the innovative Samsung NV range such as the award winning NV24HD with a 24mm ultra wide angle lens, the new NV9 with multimedia functionality or the new NV100HD with intuitive touch screen technology. This touch screen technology is the latest version of the award winning Smart Touch User Interface and provides a dramatically different way of organising and viewing your pictures and enables you to change camera settings, all from intuitive touches on the LCD screen.

For customers to claim their free annual cinema pass and access up to 165 cinemas across the UK, customers need to collect a voucher claim form from retail staff when purchasing a Samsung NV Camera. The completed claim form should be returned along with an SAE and a copy of the receipt to the address specified on the form. Alternatively they can download the form online at www.samsungcamera.co.uk/movies.

Customers will be sent their 2 for 1 cinema card and can visit www.myvue.com/2for1 for available films and venues. Customers must present the card at their chosen cinema to receive their 2 for 1 entry. What’s more, cards are transferable so the whole family can take advantage of the card.

This exciting offer is only valid from 13th October until 31st December 2008. For further information on the NV range and full terms and conditions, please visit www.samsungcamera.co.uk/movies.

This seems like a great idea and with the offer lasting until the end of the year it makes it appealing for the christmas market.

The NV range currently has 9 cameras in it and 2 of those are in a very girly pink colour so if you fancy getting your other half a camera and taking her to the cinema for free (not saying your all cheapskates) then why not have a look on the 13th of October?

Apple MacBooks coming to Carphone Warehouse ?

image This rumour has been circulating for a while now but the noise is getting louder now. Macworld think Apple may be closing in on a deal with Carphone Warehouse under which the latter firm will begin selling Macs in-store across the UK. AppleInsider is also claiming that Mac-related ‘placeholder’ items have appeared within the Carphone Warehouse internal computer system, prompting speculation on an such a deal. For me this would make perfect sense, Apple do not have enough stores in the UK so this would be a great way for them to hit the high street and this would also enable Carphone Warehouse to offer big discounts on MacBooks if bought with a Mobile Broadband contract.
