12 Days of Christmas (and some) – Prize number 32

We are entering what should be the final week of our competition so here is your chance to win ‘Big Box of Blox’ from Astraware.

Astraware

Big Box of Blox is block stacking fun taken to outrageous extremes!

Astraware Big Box of Blox

Using stylus or button controls, arrange the three-blox-high stacks as they fall. Match blox in groups of three or more, vertically or horizontally, to eliminate them – but that’s not all!

Don’t just stack the blox. Smash them, blast them, mutate them or explode them in a shower of flames! Use special blox including jokers, bombs, frogs, mushrooms, fireballs and slot machines to clear the board before it reaches the top!

Choose from five exciting game modes: Flaming Peelout, Blok Atak, Groink, Mushroom King and Asylum Cubez or even create your own combination using the special Custom Mode. Faithful to the critically-acclaimed PC version, Big Box of Blox features cool psychedelic graphics, awe-inspiring animated backgrounds, brain crunching sound effects and an epic music soundtrack. The game’s graphics reflect the dark and mysterious nature of the PC original, but PDA owners are sometimes known to go outside into the light, so Big Box of Blox also includes a gamma adjustment slider so you can select anywhere from dark and atmospheric to vibrant and acidic.

Big Box of Blox is available for PocketPC, Smartphone and PalmOS. Please enter only if you have one of these devices.

Question: Name two of the main features of the game? You’ll have to pop over to the Astraware website to find the answer!

Please use our feedback form to submit your answer. Remember to include your full email address so that we can notify the winner. We will accept entries until the next question is posted and will choose a winner at random.

Entry by using our feedback form only. Entries will not be accepted by any other method.

Google and Orange to release Googlephone?

There are currently several rumours circulating about a possible deal between Orange and Google, the result of which would be a Googlephone.

It is widely accepted that the Google-branded device may well come pre-loaded with mobile versions of Google apps like Google Earth, Gmail, etc. It is believed that the phone itself would be manufactured by HTC, which seems logical and would suggest that it would be some kind of Windows Mobile based device.

Other sources tell us that the talks are at a much more advanced stage and that plans are afoot to release a HTC Trinity or HTC Artemis based device as a Google-branded phone in partnership with Orange.

More news as we get it.

HTC P4350 (aka HTC Herald) review

Paul over at MoDaCo has just published his review of the HTC P4350 (aka HTC Herald).

HTC P4350 open

Everyone seems to be talking about the Herald and many seem to be excited about the idea of a thinner device with a keyboard or an updated version of the K-Jam. However, Paul seems to be rather disapointed with the P4350.

“Think of the Herald in one of two ways. It’s either a slimmed down and slightly tweaked Wizard, or it’s a Prophet (i-mate JAMin, SPV M600) with a slide out keyboard without gaining any additional size.”

“The first point worthy of note is the weight! At a hefty 174g on our scales (14g more than the quoted weight), it’s substantial. Small it may be, but light it ain’t By comparison, the Prophet tips the scales at 148g, the Wizard a closer 169g. It’s the heavy weight compared with the diminuitive size that is so strange… one can only assume the solid keyboard mechanism is to blame.”

Check out Paul’s full review HERE.
