12 Days of Christmas (and some) – Prize number 38

12 Days of Christmas‘ competition.

Here is another fabulous prize, this time it comes courtesy of our friends at Orange. This is your chance to win a Sony Ericsson W850i Walkman phone with 1Gb Memory card and Orange PAYG sim. The whole package is worth in excess of £300!

Orange W850i

The W850i is the first-ever 3G Walkman™ phone, and great thing is, that as well as moving songs across from your PC playlists, you can just download ‘over the air’ via the preinstalled Orange Music Player.

Because the W850i is a 3G device, this is done in a trice, so you can always access the latest tunes quickly and easily, even when you’re out and about.

The supplied 1GB Memory Stick Pro Duo card gives you enough space for up to 1000 tracks, but if you upgrade to a 4GB stick, that’s more than enough for someone with the most eclectic of tastes. You can listen to your music in pristine digital quality via the supplied stereo headphones (but if you feel like it, you could also invest in a wireless Bluetooth™ headset, or get hold of an optional media stand and pair of speakers and – hey presto – you have a neat mini hi-fi system).

Prize Question: How much does the W850i weigh? You’ll probably want to have a look on the Orange website for the answer as that’s the one we are looking for!

Please use our feedback form to submit your answer. Remember to include your full address so that we can arrange delivery for the winner as quickly as possible, we will make every effort to get it to you in time for Christmas. We will accept entries for a day or so and will choose a winner at random.

Entry by using our feedback form only. Entries will not be accepted by any other method.

HTC USB Headphone adapter available

Our friends over at Brando Workshop have just released their own headphone adapter for the new HTC devices.

HTD headphone converter

The adapter will work on the HTC Trinity, HTC P3600, Dopod D810, HTC Artemis, HTC P3300, Qtek G200, T-Mobile MDA Compact III, Dopod P800W, HTC TyTN, Orange M3100, Vodafone v1605, and many other HTC devices and variants.

The price is a very reasonable $10 which at the moment works out to about £5! It looks like a much better solution than the adapter on back order at eXpansys.

Go check out the Brando product page.

    HTC Athena photos

Up until a few days ago the HTC Athena was the subject of much rumour and speculation. However, new ‘real’ images of the Athena have since surfaced.

    HTC Athena

The HTC Athena looks more like a UMPC or Tablet than a PocketPC and it would appear that HTC are trying to bridge the gap between mobile and laptop products. Let’s hope that they work on the design a bit more though as currently it’s an ugly device and not one that I would want to be seen with! Also I’m not sure that I would be happy with a PocketPC OS on a device as large as the HTC Athena and would have thought that full blown XP or Vista would be better, after all there are UMPC devices that are not much larger than this.

    HTC Athena Specification (speculation)

  • 5″ 64k colors TFT display screen (640 x 480)
  • 624 MHz processor
  • Built in GPS
  • 8Gb(!) on board storage
  • 3.0 megapixel camera
  • detatchable Qwerty keyboard
  • Bluetooth 2.0
  • Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.0
  • GSM Quad-band
  • massive 22,000 mAh battery
  • 3G/UMTS/EDGE
  • WiFi
