Logic3 i-Station Podium unboxing video

istation There are quite literally hundreds of speaker docks available for iPod’s and iPhone’s but as yet there are very few docks available for the iPad. Whilst I’m sure that everyone will soon catch up and bring out their own models, Logic3 have been one of the first to market with their i-Station Podium product.

The i-Station is an amplified 2-speaker stand with power and volume controls on the unit itself. The nice thing about this is that you can use it in either portrait or landscape mode thanks to a swivel in the back.

Having a media dock for the iPad seems like a logical choice to me, the iPad’s large display really does lend itself to making a great media centre and the i-Station also comes with an App for the iPad that allows for additional settings, EQ Functions and Weather display.

Check out the quick unbox below and I’ll be back soon with the review.

Parrot MiniKit Smart unboxing video

parrot mini smart 1

Parrot announced the MiniKit Smart back in November of last year and one has eventually found its way to us for a review. I am rather partial to a Bluetooth car kit as I spend hours each day in my car and often conduct business over the telephone which means I need a quality piece of hardware to suit my needs.

In the unboxing video below you will not only see what comes in the box but also a quick demo including pairing with a phone for the first time.

Early impressions are extremely positive but you will have to wait for the full review to hear my final verdict.

Enjoy the video!

Google Nexus S unboxing video

NexusS_GT_338 Google announced the Nexus S, the follow up to their first own-branded Nexus One phone, a while but here in the UK it started off as an exclusive to the Carphone Warehouse. However, from this week you’ll be able to pick up the Nexus S from a number of other retailers. We got our review model from Clove Technology.

You may recall my review of the Nexus One last year and that I was a big fan of the phone at the time, HTC did a good job with the build quality but with the launch of their own HTC Desire, complete with HTC Sense, my Nexus One was soon left behind.

This time around Google have partnered with Samsung and there are certainly hints of Galaxy S in the Nexus S, similar black plastic design and similar foot print. To me the Nexus S feels a little too plastic but the curved Super AMOLED screen is truly eye-catching.

As you’ve now com to expect, we have an unboxing video of the Nexus S below and we’ll be back soon with a full review.

HTC’s MWC 2011 press event video

pressevent Many of you will know that we were at MWC this year and invited to HTC’s press event. We were kindly allowed to record the event so here below you’ll find the full video of the event. You’ll see what we saw as the announcements unfolded one at a time including HTC Flyer, HTC Desire S, HTC Incredible S, HTC ChaCha, HTC Salsa and, not forgetting, the HTC Wildfire S

It’s a really long video, one of the longest we’ve ever uploaded to YouTube and, despite some careful editing, the run time is still over 1 hour! Transferring the video, which is in HD, has taken a while so sorry for the delay in getting this online.

Sit back and enjoy!

BlackBerry Monaco caught on video

storm3 We first saw rumours of the possible BlackBerry Storm 3 back in December and then the leaked BlackBerry roadmap was spotted in January showing a handset codenamed Monaco that appeared to be the Storm 3.

The guys over at CrackBerry.com have managed to grab a copy of a video that apparently shows the Monaco in action.

Whether or not it will eventually carry the storm name we’re not sure but it does look like a nice step up in the touchscreen department.

Check out the video and specs below.

HTC Incredible S demo video – MWC

Incredible S_1

Here we have another demonstration video recorded by Gareth at Mobile World Congress earlier this week. The HTC Incredible S is most definitely a new one to us here in Europe. Over in America they already have the Droid Incredible which is a CDMA device so it’s great that we get a GSM version at last, although some specs are different.

Sporting a 4-inch WVGA Super LCD display and with stereo surround sound the Incredible S may be the perfect option for you mobile media lovers. I personally found the HTC Desire HD a little too large so this one really appeals to me.

Enjoy the demo video after below along with a reminder of the devices full spec.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc and XPERIA Play demo video

play With MWC just coming to an end James and I were invited to a special event with Sony Ericsson last night. We had a chance to have a leisurely play with the recently announced Sony Ericsson handsets and to thoroughly test our skills on some of the new games coming to the XPERIA Play.

Below you’ll find a short demo of some of the features of Play and Arc. The XPERIA Arc really impressed me last night, I wasn’t at all as I expected. The build quality is great, feels like a premium device when in your hand and has stunning display driven by the Sony Bravia engine. What’s even more surprising is that the screen is ‘only’ an LCD but is genuinely one of the best I have seen.

Enjoy the video!

HTC Flyer demo video – MWC

Flyer_FrontPen

After yesterdays HTC press event in Barcelona, Gareth had the opportunity to get a demonstration of the newly announced HTC Flyer.

With so many companies now releasing tablets have HTC done anything to makes theirs stand out from the competition? Yes they have. As you will see in the video below Gareth gets walked through the HTC Sense user interface and even more interesting, how the Scribe (stylus) works. It is not an ordinary stylus as you will see and has more than one feature.

See the video below along with a reminder of the HTC Flyer specification:

BlackBerry PlayBook demo video – MWC

blackberry-playbook

Over at Mobile World Congress Gareth has found his way to the BlackBerry booth to get a demonstration of the BlackBerry PlayBook.

As you will see, one of the BlackBerry team gives Gareth a quick run down of the basic user interface and how wonderful the PlayBook is at true multi tasking.

You will also see Need for Speed and Tetris being played and boy do they look good. I spoke with Gareth afterwards and he said that the PlayBook  ran so smoothly and he was very impressed.

You can see the video after the break and please let us know what you think in the forums.
