Social Browser for iPhone released – lets you share on Twitter and Facebook
Of course it is not really a “browser” (like Opera Mobile or Internet Explorer) but it is an UI control – the same as the one used in Safari – that is used in app – like many other “browser” apps. However this “browser” adds something interesting: you can easily share links to web pages that you are viewing on 2 currently leading social networks: Twitter and Facebook. Of course next week, iPhone OS 3.0 will bring copy and paste and ability to share also with standard social network clients, but sharing directly from the browser might be faster.
This app is FREE (or rather banner-sponsored to be exact) and here is how this app looks like:
The twitter posting is not super-sophisticated but sufficient for quick posting of links and note that links are automatically shortened with popular URL-shortener tinyURL:
Description from the developer:
Stop surfing alone! Browse the web on your iPhone or iPod Touch – and with one click share interesting tidbits to Facebook and Twittr. Tumblr, Digg, and Delicious coming soon. Give us some love on the reviews and keep us going! 🙂
Features:
– Top notch web browsing for your iPhone
– Manage bookmarks and favorite sites
– One click sharing through Facebook and Twitter
– Immense personal popularity as you share your favorite sites with friends
Commentary: nowadays it looks like an app that has no ability to share on Twitter and Facebook should be ashamed of itself! Of course copy and paste in iPhone will change a lot, but still applications like this Social Browser will be in demand.
