INQ Chat 3G unboxing video

inq-chat The INQ brand isn’t particularly well known at the moment, sure there have been a few handset from INQ, all of which have been exclusive to the 3 network here in the UK I believe, but they seem to have a fairly small following.

We reviewed the INQ1 last year and we felt that although it was far from being the most sophisticated phone it offered good social networking integration social with Facebook, Windows Live Messenger and Skype being pre-installed. This on top of the excellent data bundles that 3 were offering at the time, £10 per month for ‘unlimited data’ meant that it was a phone worth considering.

The INQ Chat 3G aims to expand upon what the INQ1 had to offer with a QWERTY keyboard, larger display and 3G connectivity. There are also some new pre-installed apps such as Twitter, to further enhance this handsets social appeal.

We’ll be reviewing the INQ Chat 3G over the next week and will have the review live for you soon. You can see the handset in bit more detail in the unboxing video below.

Blackberry 9700 Demo Video

BlackBerry-9700 The Blackberry Bold 9700 has been around for a few months now so I thought I would record a short video just to show you a few things that I think a BlackBerry is good for that are perhaps not quite so obvious as just email.

Everyone knows that the Blackberry is fantastic for email but maybe not everyone knows that you can do most things on a BlackBerry that you can do on the other platforms.

Sure, it’s never going to beat the iPhone for games but it’s not designed to. Its primarily a messaging device, but as you will see the 9700 not at all bad at the things that a lot of us use every day on our phones.

If you want to see more video features of the BlackBerry or have any questions you can let us know via the forum.

You may also want to check out my Blackberry Bold 9700 review that I wrote a few months ago.

HTC Legend video demo (The short one!)

Legend-trackpad Here we have another demo of the HTC Legend, this time a short one though! I thought I would show you just a couple of features on the device that I thought were pretty cool and new to HTC’s handsets and that we hadn’t covered in either of our earlier videos.

I was so eager to get the video recorded this morning that somehow I managed to make my tripod fall apart so I apologise for the wobbles here!

You can think of this video as a pre-teaser as the full review of the HTC Legend should be on the site later today so be sure to check back.

Please feel free to discuss with us using our forums or via twitter @tracyandmatt

Sony Ericsson Vivaz unboxing video

Vivaz_Front The Vivaz was one of five new handsets announced by Sony Ericsson at MWC last month and is the first of the five to make it to market. This is the one without the sliding QWERTY keyboard, it’s ‘bigger’ brother the Vivaz Pro is due to launch soon. Despite having a sliding QWERTY mechanism the Vivaz Pro is just 2mm thicker than the Vivaz.

The Vivaz is a good looking slim handset and despite its having a reasonably large 3.2″ glass touchscreen the handset weighs just 97 grams which is pretty remarkable, first time I held one of these I thought it was a dummy unit until I turned it on, it really is that light!

The other feature that the Vivaz boasts is that the 8.1 megapixel camera can be used to record 720P HD video at 24fps and is the thinnest camera phone to be able to record HD video.

So we managed to get our hands on the Vivaz over the weekend, busy times with the Legend too, and we’re starting our review this week. As is now customary, we have an unboxing video for you below. I’m keeping this one brief as we’ve had a few demo videos of the Vivaz in action that James recorded at MWC and had the nice people at Sony Ericsson do the demo’s for him. So I’m limiting this one to more of a classic unboxing, as I believe that we are the first to see the retail package, than delving in to the OS. We’ll save the full tour for after the review!

Amazon Kindle DX review

kindleDX About a month ago the nice people from Amazon kindly sent me a Kindle DX to review. The Kindle DX is the latest in the Kindle range of eBook readers which offers a larger and higher resolution display.

I have to admit that I am not a big reader, it’s not something that I have a lot of time for these days but one the that did appeal to me was the ability to display PDF documents so as I have to read a lot of reports this was one feature that I was keen to test.

The Kindle, like other eBook readers out there, utilises a display technology called E Ink. If you’ve never seen this with your own eyes before then it’s very hard to explain in any way that can do it justice. When anything is displayed on the screen it really does look like ink on paper. This means that reading the display for extended periods of time does not lead to the kind of eye strain of fatigues that you would expect from an LCD screen.

To find out what I actually thought of the Amazon Kindle DX in practice then please read on…

Windows Phone 7 Series Demo

7 I just spotted a fantastic video demonstration of Windows Phone 7 Series on the web.

Internet Entrepreneur and all round Tech Geek Chris Pirillo has posted an fantastic 17 minute video of him getting a hands on demo from Microsoft.

Whether you have seen ‘7’ in action or not its well worth making a coffee, getting comfortable and settling down for what I think is the best video so far showing the new OS in action.

Enough of me talking. Enjoy

HTC Legend demo video

Legend_per Hopefully you saw my HTC Legend unboxing video yesterday and although I did do a quick demo of a few of the features in that video I thought it would be a good idea to record another to show you some of the other apps and features that the HTC Legend has too offer.

I have to say that after 24 hours with the Legend I really like it. The build quality is nothing short of fantastic and that Super Bright AMOLED display is, er, Super! Although I like Android devices generally and thought I would like the Legend I’ve actually decided that I love it. That’s come as a bit of a surprise to me as I generally like to have a device with a larger and higher res screen but with the Sense UI and additional features that HTC have added I think the Legend may have simply made me even more impatient to try the Desire!

We’ll have the Legend for another few weeks while we prepare our review so please do feel free to ask your questions via the forum. You’ll find the demo video after the break. It’s over 20 minutes long so make yourself comfortable!

HTC Legend unboxing video

Legend-main Last month saw the launch of a few new HTC devices, the HTC Legend being just of of them and it seems that this one will be the first to go on sale.

So the Legend review units seem to have started to arrive with various journalists over the past few days and ours arrived just about an hour or so ago. Wasting no time I’ve grabbed the camera and recorded an unboxing and demo video for you.

In the video I’ll take you on a tour of the hardware and then we’ll have a brief look at the operating system and user interface. I’ll record another video later on and will look at more of the applications in greater detail.

We’ll also have the full review for you once we’ve had time to give the Legend a thorough road test. As you know, we wont write a review of anything until we have been able to use it properly!

After the jump you’ll find the video as well as a couple of teaser photos…
