Yesterday my new 3rd generation iPad (aka iPad 3) turned up via UPS. Of course the first thing I did with my new iPad is record an unboxing video for you all to look at!
In the video below you can see a quick tour around the hardware, a look at the smart covers and a quick look at the new retina display.
I have to say that the new retina display is absolutely awesome! Everything is so much clearer, fonts are sharper and the colour gamut seems to be wider. I am surprised though that, despite twice the resolution of the iPad 2 (2048 x 1536 pixels) everything is drawn on screen at the same size so rather than visit a web page and get twice the amount on the screen you see the same page and layout, just smoother!

With PlayBook sales on the up since the updated software was released you may well want to consider protecting your device (unlike me who managed to chip a corner out of mine!)
MyTrendyPhone.co.uk kindly sent us the PDair leather case for the BlackBerry PlayBook to have a look at. As well as looking and feeling good this product also has a kick stand which is perfect for setting your PlayBook on a flat surface to watch videos etc.
MyTrendyPhone.co.uk also have a wide range of mobile accessories, iPad cases and BlackBerry cases so why not head on over and see what they have to offer?

Whilst I work away at my review of the new Archos 101 G9 it seems they have preparing a new line of tablets to succeed the G9 range already. The Archos G10 xs series. Showing off a concept demo featuring a keyboard dock, magnetic screen protector with a mouse pad it seems the device(s) will run on something like an OMAP4470 1.8Ghz Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 with SGX544 graphics or even the OMAP5430 which can also run upwards 1.8Ghz or more. Before all specs are announced Archos have already targeted this device at the £250(ish) pricing point.
In addition to their Arnova, budget, range Archos Elements brings Google Certified tablets at as low as £100. A reliable source believes Archos Elements will bring the Rockchip RK30 Dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 performance and higher capacitive screen resolutions than Arnova at extremely competitive pricing.

Motorola’s latest offering to the Android posse is the MOTOLUXE which you can pick up on contract for free thanks to T-Mobile.
The Motorola MOTOLUXE is an elegantly designed Smartphone running the Moto Switch 2.0 user interface on the Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread operating system.
Powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm processor, the 4" edge-to-edge display of the MOTOLUXE is housed within a brushed metal outer frame. Just below the screen is a lanyard groove, which rather uniquely also doubles up as a notification light for alerts.
One of the most noticeable features of the MOTOLUXE is its 8MP camera, which features autofocus and LED flash. It’s also accompanied by a 0.3MP front-facing camera, meaning that video calling is a possibility should you wish to chat face to face with friends and family.
You can see the unboxing video below and watch out for the full review in the next few weeks.
I have got to get me one of these beauties. The Mini Keyboard for the PlayBook has been announced by RIM today and for many this will make the wonderful tablet even more useable in the business sector. In fact, I will more than likely start doing my reviews on the PlayBook.
The BlackBerry Mini Keyboard is ultra portable and comes complete with a stylish convertible case that doubles as a stand for the tablet. In addition to a full QWERTY keyboard, it offers an integrated touchpad that allows users to navigate and control the BlackBerry PlayBook as easily as using the touch screen on the tablet itself. When the keyboard is active, the PlayBook tablet’s virtual keyboard remains hidden, freeing up 100% of the display for the task at hand.
“Whether you’re typing email, creating documents, surfing the web or using other apps, the BlackBerry Mini Keyboard and its integrated carrying case is an ideal accessory,” said James Poulton, Director, Advanced Accessories.

LG have quite a history of working with Prada and as the name of this one’s title suggests, it’s the third LG phone to also carry the Prada name.
You may think that these fashion phone tie-ins are all style over substance but with the new LG Prada phone that could be set to change, under the hood we have a 1GHz dual-core CPU and 1GB ram which, looking at the benchmarks, makes the phone tick along nicely.
Then there’s the 4.3″ Nova Plus display. At 480×800 pixels this may not be the highest res on the market but it’s a really clear and bright display and seems to have an ultra-white backlight.

It’s ALL about the iPad tonight. Well, when I say ‘ALL’ I don’t mean wall to wall iPad talk. In fact there will be a few other interesting stories for those who aren’t interested in the iPad. Quite a few stories… and a few bargains too. Some listeners have also written in. In fact we might not have time for the iPad… we’ll see if we can fit it in. At the end…
Now that the latest version of the PlayBook software has been with us for a couple of weeks RIM have put together a couple of videos which I presume are aimed for the television at some point.
As you will see below the videos really highlight the capabilities of the BlackBerry PlayBook and focus on the social integration that works so well.
Whether you are a BlackBerry fan or not I urge you to have a go of the PlayBook if you have the opportunity in store. You may well be pleasantly surprised!

Sony announced three new Android devices at Mobile World Congress this week. The Xperia U and Xperia P are coming in Q2 this year but the flagship Xperia S has gone on sale in Barcelona already. We have been lucky to get a non retail one from Sony nice and early so if you are interested in the Xperia S you can view the main features in our video.
Currently running Android 2.3 we are promised an update to 4.0 very soon. The Xperia S is packed with some great specs including a 12 mega pixel camera, full HD video recording, 32GB of internal storage all powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor.
The HD 4.3 inch Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA® Engine is absolutely stunning for watching video and viewing pictures and as the Xperia S comes with a HDMI cable you can replicate that quality on your TV.
You can see the unboxing video below and we will of course have a full review in due course.
