Screen Shot 2012-05-21 at 18.37.31

Earlier today BlackBerry UK released, via their YouTube channel, three new TV adverts which follow on from their first in the latest marketing campaign that we saw a couple of weeks ago.

These new three are shorter than the original but feature specific phone features or devices. NFC, web browsing and BBM Music are all targeted and they are incorporated with pushing the BlackBerry Curve 9320, Bold 9900 and Bold 9790.

Nice to see more of the good stuff coming our way.

BlackBerry Healthcare Application Demo: iNurse from Advanced Health & Care

Screen Shot 2012-05-16 at 14.30.16

I’m a great lover of when it comes to seeing new customised applications for the BlackBerry. We have covered various Police Force and NHS Foundation videos in the past who utilize the BlackBerry solution and iNurse is another application that BlackBerry UK has released a video of on their YouTube channel.

iNurse is a mobile patient management system which enables community clinicians and nursing teams to record and communicate patient care information using their BlackBerry smartphone, including apps that help you take care of yourself and to control the use of your medications, vitamins or supplements for everyday, the t-booster is one of the most popular for males in their apps and contraceptives for woman.

If the amount of time spent doing paper work can make clinicians more time effective and improve patient care then that can only be a good thing.

iNurse for Blackberry offers the following:

  • Viewing and recording of patient care information – as well as delivering case information, community nurses can record consultation activity and outcomes at the point of care, improving quality, safety and reliability of patient care
  • Provision of quality management information – including the monitoring of case transit and nurse arrival status
  • iNurse can integrate with all key patient management systems (including Adastra & Crosscare) to update patient records with consultation information and service delivery information
  • Improved efficiency and productivity – increasing team visits by up to 25% through reducing paperwork and unnecessary travel time
  • Messages back to GP systems – information recorded using iNurse can be messaged back to the patient’s GP or other registered care provider
  • Lone worker safety supported by up to date location information
  • iNurse works in a semi connected environment – the device is always functional even when there is a loss of signal
  • Integrates with several third-party applications including satellite navigation

If you fancy taking a look at the application in action you can see the video below:

If you are eyeing up the HTC Desire C as your next smartphone you are going to need to know its specifications.

While they may not be the highest, it is nice to see Android 4.0 running on low cost device. We already told you that T-Mobile would be offering the Desire C for £169.99 on Pay As You Go so the small but up to date handset should do pretty well in the consumer market.

You can see the its full specifications and video below:

BlackBerry Curve 9320 Review

BlackBerry Curve 9320 Review

The BlackBerry Curve 9320 may not be the BlackBerry Smartphone that is hitting the headlines at the moment due to it being a low end, budget device but that doesn’t mean it will not be popular. In fact, here in the UK it is quite possible that the 9320 may be 2012’s best selling Smartphone?

For the last two years RIM have claimed the title of most handsets sold in Great Britain and with the youth of today all carrying a BlackBerry, the Curve 9320 is the perfect successor to the Curve 8520 and 9300 that have proved so popular.

Available sim free from only £130 and on contact from £10.50 a month the BlackBerry Curve 9320 is both affordable and should be the perfect reason to keep the 8520/9300 users on Team BlackBerry.

Running BlackBerry 7.1 the 9320 doesn’t have the highest specs but due to it having the most up to date software it runs like a dream.

If you are in the market for the cheapest, best communication device yet I suggest you read on.

Octopus Keyboard for iPhone mimics BlackBerry 10

blackberry10_thumb

We only saw the BlackBerry 10 keyboard previewed in the last couple of weeks and already it has been copied for the iPhone, if you are jailbroken.

As you will see in the following video the Octopus keyboard still looks the same as the current iPhone keyboard however it now has the addition of the same word prediction and flicking the word up to add to your messages we saw RIM preview. Clearly using Octopus will not be as easy compared to a BlackBerry 10 device due to screen size but in the meantime it looks good.

According to iMore the Octopus keyboard is due for a  May 20th release on Cydia. Between now and then I would imagine that Research in Motion’s lawyers will be working overtime to get Octopus stopped. I’m sure they wouldn’t have shown it off at the BlackBerry World 2012 keynote unless it was fully patented?

Anyway, you can catch the video below. It is pretty cool and quite funny that the iPhone is mimicking a BlackBerry.

We believe life’s made up of two kinds of people. Those content to go with the flow, and those who grab life with both hands. If you are someone who seizes opportunities, asks the questions, makes things happen, BlackBerry is designed for you.
