MacRumors are reporting that over the past 24 hours, Apple has begun to approve 3rd party web browsing applications for the iPhone. A number of new web browsing apps have suddenly appeared with original submission dates ranging as far back as October. Web browsing applications were previously charged with “duplicating functionality” of other iPhone apps and was felt to be the reason why Opera would never be approved by Apple.
I can’t blame you if you’re still a bit sceptical about the LG GD910 watch phone since it’s the stuff that you only see in science fiction movies and comic books. However, this video showcasing LG’s newest endeavour might finally convince you that it’s real. It comes courtesy of LG Canada and documents their stint at CES 2009 in Las Vegas. The LG GD910 watch phone is the star of the video and just proves to everyone that it is indeed a fully-functional phone that looks as cool (if not better) in real life as it does in the pictures. Enjoy!
Gizmodo managed to pin down Microsoft’s Robbie Bach to ask him about the future of Windows Mobile. As usual not very much is given away except that Windows Mobile will becoming more consumer orientated in the future. Another story that has just appeared is a Microsoft product road map that shows Windows Mobile 7 beta to be released this year with a full release in the future, strangely no mention of Windows Mobile 6.5 but maybe that is because it will not be a significant update, we shall see and hear more hopefully at MWC Barcelona in February. Video and road map after the break.

The updated beta now makes Skype software broadly available to millions of mobile users worldwide, including for the first time, mobile users in the U.S. The lite version delivers core Skype capabilities including:
Phonescoop lived up to their name and have managed to get some hands on time with the Palm Pre that was announced yesterday at CES. They have put together a short video demonstration of the phone and Web Os in action and we have it after the break. A little more information is coming out now on this device and its not all good. For example old Palm OS applications won’t work on Web OS directly, but Palm did say that a third party developer is working on an emulator to enable such compatibility. More info and the hands on video after the break.
The guys over at Pocketables managed to get a video of the Palm CES press conference and have posted the event over five seperate YouTube videos. Mobiletopsoft have linked a quick video of the Kogan Agora. More of a look at the form of the phone, this video shows the device is quite nippy and one of the nicest looking of all the upcoming phones. Video after the break.
Well we all love a bit of real geeky tech and this watch from LG delivers it. It’s basically a mobile phone built into a watch form factor with a touch screen, it has bluetooth, 3G / HSDPA and a reported talk time of 2hrs. Not sure I am ready to be seen in the street talking into my watch yet so the bluetooth could come in handy for a headset connection. Check out the LG video after the break.
The guys over at The iPhone Blog have grabbed a video demo of the Sling Media Player application for the iPhone in action. This is looking like a great application with screen swipes to change channels see through menu overlays and good quality H.264 video. I don’t have a Sling Box at the moment but as soon as this App gets a launch date I will be straight down to PC World to get one. Video after the break.
