Phonearena video review of Omnia HD

200902161118samsung-omnia-hd-3 The specs of the Omnia HD are really nothing to sniff at, even with though they oddly excluded Windows Mobile in favour of Symbian. It looks a little plasticy but have a look as the Phonearena video review after the break for a simple look at this emerging device.

Terminator Salvation coming to the iPhone and iPod Touch

image There seems to have been a little jump in the quality of games now being released for the iPhone and iPod Touch, we have just seen the release of an excellent port of Tiger Woods PGA Tour and now we find out that Terminator Salvation is on it’s way too. Gameloft have released a trailer and the graphics and game play look stunning. Taking into account the Apple advertising campaigns recently especially for the iPod Touch gaming is now very much a serious option on the platform. Take a look at the trailer after the break.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour video review

IMG_0085 I have been playing with Tiger Woods PGA Tour for the iPhone for a few days now and have put together a video showing how the application looks, what content it has and a look at the game play and control systems which are very important on golf games. Overall impression of the game is excellent, the graphics are superb and smooth. Game play is very intuitive and the swing mechanism is easy to learn but not to master so the game has plenty of longevity. I have experienced a couple of freezes and crashes back to the home screen of the iPhone but the good thing is if it does do that ,when you reload the game it starts where it left off so don’t worry if your a stroke ahead of Tiger with two holes left and it crashes.

Take a look at the video after the break:-

Tellme coming to Windows Mobile 6.5

image For the past decade, Tellme has been pioneering voice services for businesses and consumers, answering billions of calls every year and helping millions of people get the information they need simply by speaking a request. Now the convenience of voice is coming to Windows phones, bringing people closer to the things they want by providing easier access to more of the phone’s functionality. With Tellme people using the latest Windows phones will be able to simply say what they want, such as ‘call mom’ or ‘text Jim’ or ‘pizza,’ and results display on the screen.

Tellme will be available for free on Windows Mobile 6.5 phones in the Fall 2009 when the phones hit store shelves. Initially available in the Windows Marketplace for Mobile store, Tellme will also make the service available for free to mobile operators and carriers to embed ‘on-device’ for a voice experience right out of the box.

Sounds like an interesting service, you can read the full press release here and after the break there is a demo video so you can see what it is all about.

Sony Ericsson W715 unboxing video

We’re continuing to look at the Walkman and Cybershot phones that Sony Ericsson have to offer and this week we have the Sony Ericsson W715. As the name suggests this is one of Sony Ericsson’s more music-centric Walkman handsets.

Unlike other Sony Ericsson handsets we’ve reviewed lately, the W715 is exclusive to Vodafone.

LG Arena (KM900) unboxing video

You may have seen the adverts for the LG Arena on TV where the phone is demonstrated as a completely touch-screen device. Fans of the HTC Touch may hove noticed some similarities between the user interface on the Arena and the Touch Cube on the HTC Touch.

The LG Arena has an extremely sensitive screen thanks to the capacitive technology used. It’s similar in response to the iPhone but has higher-res WVGA (480×800) screen that will help you make the most of your videos as the Arena will even playback DivX/Xvid Video.

Play your music more powerfully with Dolby Mobile for Music to experience a superior sound quality. Plus, take advantage of the 3.5mm jack, for connecting high quality headphones. Finally, the LG Arena allows you play your music in multi-formats meaning all of your music – MP3, AAC, AAC+, RA and WMA).
