Epson Stylus Office BX625FWD review

bx625fwd This week we’re continuing our look at all-in-one printers available at the moment with the Epson Stylus Office BX625FWD, a 4-in-1 office printer.

This model features duplex printing, faxing, copying and has built in WiFi and 6.3cm colour screen on the control panel.

The machine is by no means small but with so many features crammed in to one package does it do everything well or are there compromises being made?

Gear4 UnityRemote review

Gear4 UnityRemote review Here at tracyandmatt.co.uk we like to review interesting products and this one that I’ve been given for review is no different, here I have the new product from gear4 the UnityRemote. It is a very clever attempt at a universal remote and I have been putting it through its paces for over a week now.

Question is, is it good enough to be top of the universal remote market or is it just an expensive product that will end up at the back of shelves?

To find out, read on for the full review.

Motorola XOOM Review

XOOM_Front_Home_CES

The Motorola XOOM was the first tablet to be launched running Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Our friends over in the USA have had the XOOM for a wee while now but it is now on sale here in the UK if you fancy picking one up.

Dubbed as an iPad killer the XOOM will sure appeal to many that are not Apple fans but the big question is ‘is it as good?’

The XOOM offers some features that the iPad does not but the iPad too has some pretty big features going in its favor.

Read on to find out what we thought of the XOOM. (I have the Wi-Fi only version)

Nokia E7 Review

Nokia E7We first got hands on with the Nokia E7 last September when James visited Nokia World in London. That seemed a lifetime ago but the device is now available to buy.

With Nokia losing ground over their rivals they need to pull something out of the bag to keep their followers interested. The E7 sports a 4″ AMOLED screen with a slide out QWERTY keyboard and an 8mp camera able to record HD video. But is it enough?

Take a look below to see what this long time Nokia fan thought.

LG Optimus 2X (LG-P990) Review

LG Optimus 2X (LG-P990) Review Running the 1GHz Tegra 2 chipset, the LG Optimus 2x is the world’s first Smartphone with a dual-core CPU. But the insane amount of horsepower isn’t the only thing going for the Optimus 2x; 4″ LCD touch screen, 8MP camera, 1080p HD video recording, 8GB of internal storage and Android 2.2 Froyo are all present and accounted for in the Optimus 2x.

But is the extra horsepower worth it? Do smart phones that live in your pocket need to have this much computing power? Should you get this instead of other dual core smart phones such as the HTC Sensation, the Samsung Galaxy S II and the Motorola Atrix?

Dell Venue Pro review

Venue-main Dell as a brand name is known by almost everyone for their value for money desktops and laptops. Some may have even heard of Dell’s ‘phonelet’, the Streak, though it’s sales figures weren’t a major success. But a mobile phone with a Dell logo slapped on isn’t something you see often in the UK.

The Venue Pro is Dell’s newer and more promising offering into the mobile market, one which has caught the eye of many thanks to it’s rather unique form factor. There is less than a handful of smartphones with a sliding portrait qwerty, none of which offer Windows Phone 7 like the Venue Pro. Despite being announced as one of the original launch phones of Windows Phone 7 last year, it has been subject to countless delays and only very recently has the long awaited Venue Pro been available.

So was the Venue Pro worth the delays and consequent heartache? Read on to find out.

HTC Wildfire S review

HTC Wildfire S review Back in February of this year HTC announced a number of new handsets including 3 that were direct upgrades/replacements of existing models. We’ve already had a look at the HTC Desire S and the HTC Incredible S so now it’s time for the HTC Wildfire S to go on test.

Its predecessor, the HTC Wildfire, has been on sale for almost a year and sales have been good for HTC as the handsets has been available both SIM free and through a number of UK operators both PAYG and on contract. In fact, as an entry level Android handset, I’d say that the Wildfire was responsible for introducing a whole new group of users to the wonders of Android.

The Wildfire S is similar to last years model, virtually the same size and just a little bit lighter. Main difference is in the screen being twice the number of pixels at 320×480 HVGA resolution but still remaining 3.2″ in size.

HTC have also done away with the optical trackpad in each of this years models and the Wildfire S is no different so the area below the screen is a lot more ‘clean’ if a little bland.

Other changes go beyond the cosmetic and we’ll look at these throughout the review so be sure to read on to learn more.

PicSay for Android – Quick Review

PicSay - Photo Editor - Android Market

When it comes to Photo Editors there are quite a few on the market which will give you half decent results, but PicSay (and even more so the “pro” version), delivers more than most. PicSay is available for Android Smartphones and can be found in the Android Market.

Wrapped in a simple, easy to use interface it includes, alongside the technical effects of exposure, contrast, brightness etc, a fantastic choice of distortion, colour adjustment, artistic and photo effects such as lomo, faux HDR, tilt shift etc.. You can also add stickers, emoticons, word balloons (with innumerable colour and style options) and it has the ability to superimpose parts of another photo (someone’s head for example) onto your original snapshot. You can also upload your masterpiece straight to Facebook or FlickR etc in a couple of clicks. All in all, a super photo editor that “does what it says on the tin”. The “Pro” version is a little on the expensive side at around £2.50 ($4.14), but in my humble opinion is well worth it if you are into this sort of thing.

Below you can see some sample pictures edited with PicSay.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc review

Arc-mainWe first saw the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Arc back in February of this year at an event held in London on the same day as the main announcement at MWC in Barcelona.

Sony Ericsson announced a number of new handsets back them and they are now starting to find their way in to stores here in the UK. Just last week we reviewed the Sony Ericsson XPERIA Play and we’re pretty impressed with it’s performance and the Playstation gaming features.

Now it’s over to me to complete my review of the XPERIA Arc. Many of you will know that I’ve had an Arc for some time and have done a number of videos and demos of the Arc in action. However, I’ve only had the final retail version of the Arc for a short time. It’s been our policy for a while now to only write the review once we have the final hardware and ROM build as things can and do change otherwise.

Sony Ericsson have crammed the Arc with some great technology such as the Bravia Mobile Engine and also an Exmor R sensor in the camera. So does this stack up to make a great smartphone or are we looking at just another Android slab?

Read on to see!

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Review

Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Review Possibly the worst kept secret in Sony Ericsson’s history, the Playstation Phone aka the Xperia Play was one of 4 devices unveiled at MWC in February this year. Part Android phone, part PSP, is this handset a match made in heaven or is it just a Frankensteinian mix that was never meant to be?
