The Android platform is growing larger and larger by the day and is regarded by many as the World’s top smartphone platform. With over 350,000 Android devices being activated daily, there really is an Android Army being created.
For our latest Clove competition, which kicks off from this point onwards, we want your help in personifying (or even Androidifying) this Android Army. The prize? One of the hottest Android smartphones available – the HTC Incredible S (bundled with accessories)
We’ve created a few Androids ourselves in the Clove office, we can’t wait to see some of the designs that everyone comes up with. Below are some of the examples that we have created as well as the competition rules. Full terms and and conditions can be found at www.clove.co.uk/comp
We all know now that Samsung are a force in the mobile phone industry but we also know that they really like the word ‘Galaxy’ as they seem to use it with every phone they release with the exception of a few. So when I found out that I was to review one of Samsungs’ newest devices, the Samsung Galaxy Pro or GT-B7510 I was a little sceptical of what I might find.
So if you are wondering if this phone stands out from the crowded mobile phone market or whether it just doesn’t cut the mustard then please read on to find out.
WWDC is less than a day away and as usual, the rumour mill has churning out everything imaginable to do with this keynote presentation. For those who are to busy or for those who simply forgot to catch up on what the rumour mill has pumped out over the past few months, here is a guide to what will probably happen at this years World Wide Developers Conference.
Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference gets under way in San Francisco tomorrow and runs all week. It’ll kick off with a Keynote address which starts at 5pm UK time tomorrow.
So what are we expecting from the keynote?
Apple has already confirmed that Steve Jobs will be there along with his team to speak about Mac OSX 10.7 (Lion), the upcoming iOS 5 and their own cloud services, iCloud.
Rumours continue to circulate about possible new iPhones including ‘leaked’ images of iPhones with hardware keyboards and 4G variants.
Personally I’m not expecting to see any new hardware touted just yet but with Apple you never can tell. We shall be coving the event here on the site and hope to be live blogging along with detailed coverage after the event. Be sure to tune in tomorrow!

With the rapid progression of mobile phones, the need for mobile browsing has increased dramatically to match the individual needs of the average consumer. The question is; will it sink or swim in sight of all the competition?
That familiar electronics brand will be putting out their second attempt at an Android tablet this July. Toshiba has announced that the Thrive will go on sale in July with pre-orders starting June 13th. Pricing is also pretty impressive as well. It will come in three models: 8GB, 16GB and 32GB. The 8GB model will run $429, 16GB – $479, and the 32GB will cost a modest $579. Those are very competitive prices.
Looks like the Thrive will be hitting the American market first, however no details have been released about the other territories.
Other features that come with the Thrive:
- Android 3.1 Honeycomb
- Full sized HDMI, USB and SDCard slots
- Customizable back plate: You will be able to choose from 5 colors

HTC have excitedly produced their first venture into the tablet market with the HTC Flyer. A 7" Android tablet running version 2.3.3 Gingerbread on a newly designed 1.5ghz processor. No dual-core and no Honeycomb might not sound like a tablet to get too excited about however the Flyer has a few tricks up it’s sleeve to make it stand out from what looks to be becoming a rather crowded market.

Just a couple of weeks after the BlackBerry PlayBook launched in North America I was lucky enough to get one of the first review devices to arrive here in the UK. To say I have been looking forward to reviewing the PlayBook would be an understatement. As a big BlackBerry fan I am hoping I can see the PlayBook taking over the role of my Apple iPad which I use every morning and evening. Could this smaller form factor make me take a tablet to work with me each day?
The PlayBook is RIM’s first attempt at the tablet market and many have been quick to slate the PlayBook. I am going to give it a fair crack of the whip and by the time this review is complete I would have spent nearly three full weeks with the device. Now although I am a BlackBerry fan I hope you all realise from past experience that if a product does not live up to expectation we here at tracyandmatt will certainly say so.
Lets crack on and have a good look around both the hardware and software of what I am hoping will be my new companion.
