Films arrive in the Android Marketplace

SC20111021-170957Google today debuted a new movie rental store in the Android Marketplace in addition to the ability to purchase books. UK Android users will have 1,000 films to begin with, starting around £2.49. The rental period lasts 30 days and the movie will be available on any connected device the user logs into. That means the user’s Android smartphone, tablet, and even the computer can be used to watch the movie. Sounds brilliant however, once the user starts watching a film, they get 48 hours to finish. If you don’t finish in the 48-hour window, you will have to pay again.

At present the selection of movies is varied. However, as a debut the selection is pretty good. It all seems to link back to your Youtube account.

We posted images of this funny looking BlackBerry a while ago. It turns out it is actually real. TBreak.com have received an invite to attend an event in Dubai where Porsche will unveil the collaboration device.

I dread to think how much this one is going to cost but I can certainly say this is one BlackBerry I do not want. Personally i think it looks horrid!

You can see the invite below and please feel free to let us know your thoughts via the Facebook link at the base of the post.

BlackBerry DevCon 2011 starts today – BBX unveiling?

Screen Shot 2011-10-18 at 08.09.09

Today sees the start of BlackBerry DevCon in the USA. Now if you are not a BlackBerry user you more than likely have no interest in this whatsoever. However, it is here that we expect to see the future of BlackBerry Smartphones running QNX. The new OS, called BBX should be demonstrated although as a release is some way away I am guessing there will not be any hands on time but maybe the new OX will be displayed in glass cases like when the PlayBook was released.

Co- CEO Jim Balsillie said in a recent article, "We’ve leapfrogged everyone with what we’re announcing [on Tuesday] and you’re going to see it on display."

Hopefully we should also get some final announcements on version 2.0 of the PlayBook OS as well as an update on Android applications running on the tablet.

Although we cannot be there in person we will be reporting on the news so stay tuned later in the day.

Screen Shot 2011-10-17 at 16.44.59

We mentioned just a week or so ago that the BlackBerry Curve 9360 was available on Orange. I have just seen on the ‘coming soon’ page that they also are expecting the white version which looks rather cool.

Available from free on contract and £249.99 on pay as you why not stand out from the crowd and be unique with the white variant?

We will have a full review of the new Curve on the site in the next week or two. In the meantime there is a reminder of the devices specs below:
